Probing Electrocatalyst Design for Product Selectivity in CO2 Reduction
Selective CO2 electroreduction is controlled by catalyst structure, dynamic surface reconstruction, adsorbate interactions, and reaction microenvironment. This review summarizes Cu‐ and non‐Cu‐based catalysts, single‐atom and molecular systems, degradation pathways, and operando/computational strategies for steering CO2RR toward hydrocarbons ...

Computational and structure‐guided arginine scanning rewires the DNA‐binding interface of APE1 to create APE1‐Evo, a hyperactive yet specific AP endonuclease. Integrated into the NAPTUNE‐V2.0 cascade, APE1‐Evo enables amplification‐free, multiplex viral RNA sensing for dengue virus and influenza A/B, highlighting a general strategy for engineering ...

Bistable Networks Enable Complex Shape Changes
Transition‐controlled metamaterials are networks of bistable mechanical memory that store local binary states and express them as global shape change. By decoupling low‐force programming from high‐force holding, a single lattice is reconfigured into distinct 2D profiles and 3D surfaces without continuous actuation, enabling reusable morphing materials ...

The binary perfect phylogeny with persistent characters [PDF]
The binary perfect phylogeny model is too restrictive to model biological events such as back mutations. In this paper, we consider a natural generalization of the model that allows a special type of back mutation.

Using a minimal set of experimentally labeled antimicrobial and non‐antimicrobial peptides, we reconstruct the effective lipid composition of a pathogenic membrane ‐demonstrated at the example of bacterial membranes‐ through a physics‐based evolutionary molecular dynamics (Evo‐MD) approach. Optimization based on peptide insertion reveals broad‐spectrum

An interfacial electric field engineering strategy is proposed to trigger the self‐limiting surface reconstruction of high‐entropy heterostructures. Driven by this built‐in field, the controlled sacrificial leaching of W evolves a robust active layer, enabling exceptional oxygen evolution performance and ultrastability at ampere‐level current densities

Sequential binary arrays. I. The square grid [PDF]
A periodic binary array is said to be sequential if and only if every line of the array is occupied by a given periodic binary sequence or by some cyclic shift or reversal of this sequence.

Perfect and almost perfect sequences [PDF]
The autocorrelation function of a sequence is a measure for how much the given sequence differs from its translates. Periodic binary sequences with good correlation properties have important applications in various areas of engineering.

Transmission electron microscopy reveals that the formation of planar defects in Au–Pd–Pt–Ru CCSS thin films depends on Ru content, which in turn influences hydrogen evolution reaction electrocatalytic activity. As the Ru content increases, the density of nanotwins initially rises; with further Ru addition, stacking faults form.
