Perfect Codes over Non-Prime Power Alphabets: An Approach Based on Diophantine Equations
Perfect error-correcting codes allow for an optimal transmission of information while guaranteeing error correction. For this reason, proving their existence has been a classical problem in both pure mathematics and information theory.

Characterizing Cutaneous α‐Synuclein Deposition and Seeding Activity in Parkinson's Disease Subtypes
ABSTRACT Objective Cutaneous phosphorylated α‐synuclein (p‐syn) and α‐synuclein seeding activity are promising biomarkers for Parkinson's disease (PD), but their clinical value remains uncertain due to disease heterogeneity. This study evaluates these two biomarkers in PD patients to inform phenotype‐specific diagnosis and disease severity assessment ...

Perfect powers in polynomial power sums
We prove that a non-degenerate simple linear recurrence sequence $ (G_n(x))_{n=0}^{\infty} $ of polynomials satisfying some further conditions cannot contain arbitrary large powers of polynomials if the order of the sequence is at least two. In other words we will show that for $ m $ large enough there is no polynomial $ h(x) $ of degree $ \geq 2 ...

Deep Learning Pose Estimation for Phenotyping of Co‐Occurring Hyperkinetic Movement Disorders
ABSTRACT Objective To explore whether routine outpatient video combined with deep learning‐based pose estimation and clinically interpretable kinematic features can support multi‐label phenotyping of co‐occurring hyperkinetic movement disorders (HMDs).

Perfect powers in value sets and orbits of polynomials
We show the finiteness of perfect powers in orbits of polynomial dynamical systems over an algebraic number field. We also obtain similar results for perfect powers represented by ratios of consecutive elements in orbits.

Diffuse MRI Edema Predicts Relapse in Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy–Related Inflammation
ABSTRACT Objective To identify MRI predictors of relapse and quantify relapse and mortality risk in cerebral amyloid angiopathy–related inflammation (CAA‐RI). A secondary objective was to assess the association between mycophenolate mofetil use and relapse risk. Methods We performed a retrospective cohort study of 36 patients with CAA‐RI treated at the

Automated Hand Flexor Tendon–Thickness Measurement in Systemic Sclerosis
Objective Systemic sclerosis (SSc) can affect flexor tendons, contributing to hand function problems and reduced quality of life. Tendon changes are currently assessed with ultrasonography and measured manually, a time‐consuming process prone to interobserver variability.

On differences of perfect powers and prime powers [PDF]
Given a prime number $q$ and a squarefree integer $C_1$, we develop a method to explicitly determine the tuples $(y, n, α)$ for which the difference $y^n-q^α$ has squarefree part equal to $C_1$. Our techniques include the combination of the local information provided by Galois representations of Frey-Hellegouarch curves with the effective resolution of
