Multi performance option in direct displacement based design

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
Compare to traditional method, direct displacement based design (DDBD) offers the more rational design choice due to its compatibility with performance based design which is controlled by the targeted displacement in design.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

High-performance full adder design based on SRPL

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2020
The adder circuit is the core component of the high-performance system-on-chip (SoC). It is also important in image and voice encryption. The full adder circuit is a basic unit with a very high reuse rate among all the units.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Pile Design Practice and Seismic Performance Concerns in Taiwan

open access: yes, 2011
This paper introduces the current pile design practice in Taiwan with seismic performance concerns in demand. The current geotechnical code was published in 2001 based on traditional design methods.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
