Performance of a Pump Controlled Asymmetric Actuator: A Comparison of Different Control Methods
ASME/BATH 2014 Symposium on Fluid Power and Motion Control, 2014This paper discusses different stabilizing pump control methods to improve and optimize the damping of a pump controlled asymmetric linear actuator response. The main purpose of the paper has been to study the redeeming features and drawbacks of influencing the actuator response by pump control without direct position, velocity or pressure feedback ...

A performance evaluation framework for network admission control methods
2004 IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37507), 2004We introduce the notion of link and network admission control (LAC, NAC) and present three fundamentally different budget based NAC methods which categorize most of today's implemented NAC approaches. We propose a performance evaluation framework for their comparison.

Decentralized controllers design for performance: Equivalent Subsystems Method
2009 European Control Conference (ECC), 2009A Nyquist-based frequency domain decentralized controller (DC) design technique for stability and guaranteed performance is proposed applicable for continuous-time systems described transfer function matrices. To guarantee stability and a required performance, interactions are included in individual designs using one selected characteristic locus of ...

Performance Analysis of Concurrency Control Methods
2000Since the appearance of the first papers in mid-70’s formalizing two-phase locking as a means of Concurrency Control (CC) [23], there have been numerous proposals based on locking, time-stamp ordering, and optimistic CC [6], [52], [77]. CC is required to ensure correctness and database integrity when it is updated by several transactions concurrently ...

An Analytical Method for Performance Evaluation of Kanban Controlled Production Systems
Operations Research, 1996The aim of this paper is to develop a general purpose analytical method for performance evaluation of multistage kanban controlled production systems. We consider a single-part type production system decomposed into stages in series. Each stage consists of a manufacturing cell and an output buffer.

Performance Of Production Control Methods Based On Flow Control Approach
Proceedings of the Third International Conference on Computer Integrated Manufacturing,, 2005We report on the performance of a distributed production control method for part release, routing, and machine scheduling in manufacturing systems. The distributed control decisions are “guided” by the solution of a continuous flow (fluid) approximation of the production system. The method is applied to two production system examples.

A tuning method of PI controller with satisfactory performance
Proceedings of 2004 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics (IEEE Cat. No.04EX826), 2005To design an optimal second-order system with desired performance, a non-relay-based tuning method for PI controller is presented in this paper. The prior knowledge of the controlled plant is not necessary for the controller design except for a desired settling time (DST). The tuning process is asymptotically convergent without limited cycle.

Improving methods for control of logistics performance
2020IV ABSTRACT Due to lack of professionalism on logistics management, logistics costs usually exceed the budget. Also lack of statistical studies might be one reason for unsuccessful management of logistics activities. In need of a statistical approach, we develop a method to fill the gap in logistics sector.

Statistical methods for control loop performance assessment
2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA), 2011Control loop performance assessment (CLPA) has attracted considerable interest in recent years. Several methods for CLPA are proposed by researchers in last decade. Statistical methods are one of most important methods in CLPA. This paper addresses CLPA issue through a comprehensive evaluation of statistical methods to efficiently explore their ...
