Explainable Deep Learning Model for Grid-Connected Photovoltaic System Performance Assessment for Improving System Reliability

open access: yesIEEE Access
Solar power is an important renewable resource in our journey towards a sustainable energy future; however, integrating it with existing grids, especially in dust-prone environments, presents challenges, such as power reduction and financial impact ...

Using Likelihood Ratios to Detect Invalid Performance with Performance Validity Measures [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Clinical Neuropsychology, 2014
Larrabee (2008) applied chained likelihood ratios to selected performance validity measures (PVMs) to identify non-valid performances on neuropsychological tests. He presented a method of combining different PVMs with different sensitivities and specificities into an overall probability of non-validity.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Stochastic analysis of an error power ratio scheme applied to the affine combination of two LMS adaptive filters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The affine combination of two adaptive filters that simultaneously adapt on the same inputs has been actively investigated. In these structures, the filter outputs are linearly combined to yield a performance that is better than that of either filter ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Empirical and numerical-based predictive analysis of a single-axis PV system under semi-arid climate conditions of Pakistan

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
Power generation from fossil fuels is the biggest challenge in the next half of the century. Alternative power generation techniques such as solar photovoltaic (PV) show potential to act as a future fuel with a challenge to efficiently convert the ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
