Contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination for the assessment of renal perfusion in cats with chronic kidney disease [PDF]
Background: Contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination (CEUS) is a functional imaging technique allowing noninvasive assessment of tissue perfusion. Studies in humans show that the technique holds great potential to be used in the diagnosis of chronic ...

Hypothermic liver perfusion [PDF]
The review describes recent developments in hypothermic machine liver perfusion with a special focus on underlying protective mechanisms, and the role of this perfusion technique in high-risk donor-recipient combinations. To maximize the number of transplantable donor livers, several centres are exploring new machine preservation techniques.

Comparison of Adaptive Optics Scanning Light Ophthalmoscopic Fluorescein Angiography and Offset Pinhole Imaging [PDF]
Recent advances to the adaptive optics scanning light ophthalmoscope (AOSLO) have enabled finer in vivo assessment of the human retinal microvasculature. AOSLO confocal reflectance imaging has been coupled with oral fluorescein angiography (FA), enabling

Breast tumor samples scored for metabolic deregulation (M1 to M3) were given a hypoxia score (HS). The highest HS occurred in patients with strongest metabolic deregulation (M3), supporting tumor aggressiveness. HS correlated with the highest number of metabolic pathways in M1. This suggests hypoxia to be an early event in metabolic deregulation.

Computational fluid dynamic analysis of bioprinted self-supporting perfused tissue models [PDF]
Natural tissues are incorporated with vasculature, which is further integrated with a cardiovascular system responsible for driving perfusion of nutrient‐rich oxygenated blood through the vasculature to support cell metabolism within most cell‐dense ...

This article advocates integrating temporal dynamics into cancer research. Rather than relying on static snapshots, researchers should increasingly consider adopting dynamic methods—such as live imaging, temporal omics, and liquid biopsies—to track how tumors evolve over time.
