Influence of the use of acids and films in post-harvest lychee conservation
Lychee (Litchi chinensis Sonn.) has a high commercial value; however, it has a short shelf-life because of its rapid pericarp browning. The objective of this study was to evaluate the shelf-life of 'Bengal' lychee fruits stored after treatment with ...

Spatially resolved metabolic distribution for unraveling the physiological change and responses in tomato fruit using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization–mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI–MSI) [PDF]
Information on spatiotemporal metabolic behavior is indispensable for a precise understanding of physiological changes and responses, including those of ripening processes and wounding stress, in fruit, but such information is still limited.

Reversibility of lychee pericarp red color in relation to pericarp pH, activity of polyphenol oxidase, and particle size of brown pigment [PDF]
Introduction . The peel of lychee fruit turns from its attractive bright red color to a dull brown color when the fruit starts to age. This study reports how the color change of lychee pericarp from red to brown is associated with several factors and may be reversed depending on its pH, anthocyanin content and brown pigments.

Application of Essential Oils for Maintaining Postharvest Quality of ‘Rongrien’ Rambutan Fruit
The postharvest quality of rambutan fruits (Nephelium lappaceum Linn.) is mainly influenced by dehydration, which causes browning of the peel and spinterns. This research investigated the effects of some essential oils—from citronella, clove, kaffir lime,
