Period and toroidal knot mosaics

open access: yes, 2017
Knot mosaic theory was introduced by Lomonaco and Kauffman in the paper on `Quantum knots and mosaics' to give a precise and workable definition of quantum knots, intended to represent an actual physical quantum system.

On the SL(2) period integral [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Let E/F be a quadratic extension of number fields. For a cuspidal representation $\pi$ of SL(2,A_E), we study the non-vanishing of the period integral on SL(2,F)\SL(2,A_F).

Evaluating the Utility of Paired Tumor and Germline Targeted DNA Sequencing for Pediatric Oncology Patients: A Single Institution Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the diagnostic yield and utility of universal paired tumor–normal multigene panel sequencing in newly diagnosed pediatric solid and central nervous system (CNS) tumor patients and to compare the detection of germline pathogenic/likely pathogenic variants (PV/LPVs) against established clinical referral criteria for cancer ...

Calculation of arched road structure from corrugated of metal taking into account the form of the corrugation

open access: yesДороги і мости
Introduction. The issue of calculation of an arched road structure made of corrugated metal on the basis of numerical modeling using the finite element method (FEM) using the actual cross-sectional parameters of metal corrugated structures (MCS) is ...

Outcomes of Live Virus Vaccination in Patients With Vascular Anomalies Being Treated With Sirolimus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Live vaccination in patients with vascular anomalies (VA) receiving sirolimus remains controversial due to immunosuppressive effects and theoretical risks. Procedure This single‐center retrospective study included patients with VA less than 4 years old at the start of sirolimus therapy who were incompletely vaccinated.

Knörrer periodicity and Bott periodicity

open access: yesDocumenta Mathematica, 2016
The goal of this article is to explain a precise sense in which Knörrer periodicity in commutative algebra and Bott periodicity in topological K -theory are compatible phenomena.

Quantum Period Finding is Compression Robust

open access: yes, 2021
We study quantum period finding algorithms such as Simon and Shor (and its variants Eker{\aa}-H{\aa}stad and Mosca-Ekert). For a periodic function $f$ these algorithms produce -- via some quantum embedding of $f$ -- a quantum superposition $\sum_x |x ...

Pulmonary Dysfunction Is Associated With Sleep Study Abnormalities in Children With Sickle Cell Disease: A Multicenter Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary dysfunction and sleep abnormalities are common in children with sickle cell disease (SCD) and are associated with worse clinical outcomes. Whether spirometry abnormalities are associated with polysomnography (PSG) findings remains unclear.

Tsonga widow's mourning rituals practices in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in South Africa. A ritual-liturgical exploration

open access: yesTheologia Viatorum, 2020
This article studies the rituals and ceremonies that are practised by Tsonga widows at a village in Giyani in Limpopo. The research is based on the observation of the exclusion of widows from church attendance and activities in the Evangelical ...

Periodicity transforms [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1999
This paper presents a method of detecting periodicities in data that exploits a series of projections onto "periodic subspaces". The algorithm finds its own set of nonorthogonal basis elements (based on the data), rather than assuming a fixed predetermined basis as in the Fourier, Gabor, and wavelet transforms.
