Circadian pacemaking in the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) revolves around a transcriptional/posttranslational feedback loop in which period (Per) and cryptochrome (Cry) genes are negatively regulated by their protein products.

We have constructed the chromosome‐scale genome and investigated the evolutionary genomics of Schizopygopsis younghusbandi, a fish species native to the Yarlung Tsangpo River on the Tibetan Plateau. Our study indicated that this species diverged from other Schizothoracine fish approximately 4.2 million years ago, during the Neogene Tibetan uplift ...

The cba‐miR‐222‐3p affects the MAPK signaling pathway by targeting TRAF7, thereby participating in the induction of apoptosis in the testes of striped hamsters under different photoperiods. Abstract The role of miRNAs in the regulation of seasonal reproduction in rodents, particularly in relation to photoperiod changes, is still poorly understood ...

In this study, we describe a novel multi‐omics framework to train saliva‐based DNA methylation (DNAm) biomarkers that are reproducible and biologically interpretable. By leveraging a reliability dataset with replicates across tissues, we demonstrate knowledge transfer from blood DNAm to saliva DNAm data using DNAm proxies of blood proteins (EpiScores).

Rapid Circadian Entrainment in Models of Circadian Genes Regulation [PDF]
The light-based minimum-time circadian entrainment problem for mammals, Neurospora, and Drosophila is studied based on the mathematical models of their circadian gene regulation. These models contain high order nonlinear differential equations. Two model simplification methods are applied to these high-order models: the phase response curves (PRC) and ...

Intermittent Fasting Enhances Motor Coordination Through Myelin Preservation in Aged Mice
Over a 10‐week regimen, IMF significantly improved locomotor activity, motor coordination, and muscle strength compared to controls (p < 0.01). Resting‐state fMRI (rsfMRI) demonstrated that IMF modulates brain‐wide functional connectivity, enhancing communication between key brain regions.

Dietary Zinc Limitation Dictates Lifespan and Reproduction Trade‐Offs of Drosophila Mothers
Dietary metal ions significantly influence the lifespan and reproduction of Drosophila females. In this study, we show that not adding any of the metal ions to the diet adversely affects reproduction and lifespan. By contrast, food with no added Zn negatively impacts reproduction but not maternal lifespan, suggesting that female flies stop producing ...

An endochondral differentiation process in the CEPs drives pathologic disc calcification in aging LG/J mice, and NP cell hypertrophic transdifferentiation secondarily contributes. Supplementing drinking water with 80 mM K3Citrate during aging markedly reduced disc calcification, attenuated NP cell transdifferentiation, and mildly improved NP and AF ...

Temporal Regulation of Cytokines by the Circadian Clock
Several parameters of the immune system exhibit oscillations with a period of approximately 24 hours that refers to “circadian rhythms.” Such daily variations in host immune system status might evolve to maximize immune reactions at times when encounters
