Adaptive Rejection of Periodic Disturbances With Unknown Period

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 1996
A disturbance cancellation extension by means of Youla parametrization to a stabilizing nominal controller is investigated. In the case of a known disturbance model, disturbance frequencies or period time, it may be implemented directly as an add-on device to the existing control system.

Examining Sleep Disturbance During the Menopausal Period

Nursing for Women's Health, 2020
Poor sleep is frequently reported by women during the menopausal transition period. Difficulties with sleep can affect women's physical and emotional health as well as their overall quality of life. Investigators have found that there is a correlation between a woman's menopausal history and poor sleep; however, there are differences within each ...

Asymptotic Rejection of Periodic Disturbances with Uncertain Period

1992 American Control Conference, 1992
This paper considers the asymptotic rejection of periodic disturbances with uncertin period. It is assumed that the system dynamics are known and the disturbance is not measurable but is periodic with an uncertain or slowly varying period. A recursive scheme for identfying the period of a periodic signal is given.

Rotating pendulum under periodic disturbance

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1969

Analysis of periodic growth–disturbance models

Theoretical Population Biology, 2004
In this paper, I present and discuss a potentially useful modeling approach for investigating population dynamics in the presence of disturbance. Using the motivating example of wildfire, I construct and analyze a deterministic model of population dynamics with periodic disturbances independent of spatial effects.

Frequency/Period Estimation and Adaptive Rejection of Periodic Disturbances

SIAM Journal on Control and Optimization, 1986
This paper gives a method, based on a certain optimality criterion, for identification of the period of a periodic disturbance affecting a finite-dimensional linear dynamic disturbance decoupling procedure. A Fortran program approximately realizing the period identifier is included and numerical results obtained with this program are graphically ...

Periodically Disturbed Oscillators

2019
By controlling the timing of events and enabling the transmission of data over long distances, oscillators can be considered to generate the "heartbeat" of modern electronic systems. Their utility, however, is boosted significantly by their peculiar ability to synchronize to external signals that are themselves periodic in time.
