Modified Smith predictor design for periodic disturbance rejection

ISA Transactions, 2007
In this paper, a modified Smith predictor control scheme is proposed for periodic disturbance rejection in both stable and unstable processes with time delay. Without affecting the superior setpoint response of Smith predictor control, the regulation performance under periodic disturbance can be enhanced significantly by the proposed design. Meanwhile,

Disturbed periodic model for river meanders

Earth Surface Processes, 1976
AbstractAlthough river meanders are not perfectly regular their serial statistics show periodic tendencies which cannot be explained by previous stochastic models. The regular and random approaches to meander geometry can be reconciled in a disturbed periodic model with separate scale, sinuosity, and irregularity parameters.

Identification of System and Periodic Disturbances

Volume 1A: 16th Biennial Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, 1997
Abstract This paper addresses the problem of system identification in the presence of unknown periodic disturbances. Available for identification is a set of excitation input and the disturbance-corrupted response. This paper shows that the excitation-to-output system dynamics can still be identified successfully with disturbance ...

Modified virtual feedforward control for periodic disturbance rejection

The Fourth International Conference on Control and Automation, 2003. ICCA. Final Program and Book of Abstracts., 2003
In this paper, a modified virtual feedforward control (VFC), is presented for asymptotic disturbance rejection. The proposed VFC control is able to reject the periodic disturbances efficiently in nonminimum phase processes, and has been extended from SISO application to MIMO cases. The robustness of this control scheme is analyzed. The effectiveness is

Asymptotic Rejection of Periodic Disturbances With Fixed or Varying Period

Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control, 2000
A constructive derivation of repetitive control is obtained, through attempting to derive a control law for asymptotic rejection of periodic disturbances. This derivation not only reveals a close relationship between iterative operator inversion and repetitive control, but also suggests a unified design method for a learning control algorithm.

Small Periodic Disturbances in Polyatomic Gases

The Physics of Fluids, 1964
The Chapman-Enskog approximation to the velocity-energy distribution for a polyatomic gas is reinvestigated and found to yield unacceptable results for small amplitude sound waves. The solution to the linearized Boltzmann equation is then expanded in a set of orthogonal polynomials in the dynamic variables for translational and internal degrees of ...

Frequency selective dual control for periodic disturbance cancellation

International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, 2000
The paper proposes a fast adaptation scheme for the cancellations of periodic output disturbances. This scheme exploits the advantage of two different methods, namely dual control and harmonic control. The combination of the two methods is able to ensure high speed of adaptation, as well as to replace the use of traditionally preferred feedforward ...
