Correlates of zooplankton beta diversity in tropical lake systems. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
The changes in species composition between habitat patches (beta diversity) are likely related to a number of factors, including environmental heterogeneity, connectivity, disturbance and productivity. Here, we used data from aquatic environments in five

Exact regularized point particle method for multi-phase flows in the two-way coupling regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Particulate flows have been largely studied under the simplifying assumptions of one-way coupling regime where the disperse phase do not react-back on the carrier fluid.

Explicit Model Predictive Speed Control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor With Torque Ripple Minimization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSMs) are employed in various high-precision industrial applications. However, the torque ripple caused by nonideal factors, such as cogging torque, flux harmonics, and unbalanced stator phase currents diminishes ...

A cascade MPC control structure for PMSM with speed ripple minimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper addresses the problem of reducing the impact of periodic disturbances arising from the current sensor offset error on the speed control of a PMSM. The new results are based on a cascade model predictive control scheme with embedded disturbance

A Novel Visual Sensor Stabilization Platform for Robotic Sharks Based on Improved LADRC and Digital Image Algorithm

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Autonomous underwater missions require the construction of a stable visual sensing system. However, acquiring continuous steady image sequences is a very challenging task for bionic robotic fish due to their tight internal space and the inherent periodic

SAW torque transducers for disturbance rejection and tracking control of multi-inertia servo-drive systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The paper proposes a resonance ratio control (RRC) technique for the coordinated motion control of multi-inertia mechanical systems, based on the measurement of shaft torque via a SAW-based torque sensor. Furthermore, a new controller structure, RRC plus

Discrete-Time Design of Dual Internal Model-Based Repetitive Control Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper presents a novel design of discrete-time dual internal model-based repetitive control systems. The design strategy is accomplished by combining general and high-order modified repetitive control schemes for simultaneous tracking repetitive ...

Hydrodynamic response of rotationally supported flows in the Small Shearing Box model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The hydrodynamic response of the inviscid small shearing box model of a midplane section of a rotationally supported astrophysical disk is examined. An energy functional ${\cal E}$ is formulated for the general nonlinear problem.

Current Loop Decoupling and Disturbance Rejection for PMSM Based on a Resonant Control Periodic Disturbance Observer

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In the vector control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), non-periodic disturbances such as cross-coupling between axes and variations in electrical parameters, along with periodic harmonic disturbances caused by inverter nonlinearities and ...

Active noise control for periodic disturbances [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 1998
This paper proposes an active noise control algorithm for periodic disturbances of unknown frequency. The algorithm is appropriate for the feedback case in which a single error microphone is used. The previously-proposed algorithm (Bodson et al. (1997)) for the rejection of sinusoidal noise sources is extended for the cancellation of multiple harmonics.
