During the first two weeks of life rat pups show a markedly reduced adrenocortical response to stress, and this period of adrenocortical quiescence has been termed the 'stress non-responsive period' (SNRP). The adaptive value of the SNRP can be understood in terms of the effects of glucocorticoids on CNS development: excessively high or low corticoid ...

Mechanisms of periodic deformation of the film-substrate system under compressive stress
Physical Mesomechanics, 2010The paper considers elastic and plastic deformation of metal, oxide and semiconductor films during their growth, thermal annealing and mechanical loading. It is shown that in a compressed thin film-compliant substrate system, wrinkling of the film surface and coherent deformation of the substrate take place.

Bone metabolism against mechanical stress shows differing responses in growth periods and adulthood
Physiotherapy, 20151.8± 1.3 cm at P2. In the condition UCon, the COG of all subjects displaced to dominant side at both postures. The hip joint angular velocity of Con was significantly higher than that of UCon in both postures (p< 0.01). Moreover, the jerk cost on an anteroposterior direction and the right and left direction was significantly larger Con than UCon in ...

Induction Period of Oxidation and Mechanism of Fracture of Polyolefins under Mechanical Stress
International Journal of Polymeric Materials, 1993Abstract Induction period of oxidation of solid polyolefins and mechanisms of fracture under mechanical stress are reviewed. It is proposed that the existence of a true induction period at the uninhibited oxidation of solid polyolefins should be attributed to uneven spatial distribution of oxidation sites and slow migration of radicals through the ...

We will present in this work the quantitative analysis of the relationship between the doping concentrations of GeO 2 and B 2 O 3 in the core and cladding regions and the temperature sensitivity of the resonance wavelength shift in long-period fiber gratings (LPFGs).
