Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Knot theory of R-covered Anosov flows: homotopy versus isotopy of closed orbits
In this article, we study the knots realized by periodic orbits of R-covered Anosov flows in compact 3-manifolds. We show that if two orbits are freely homotopic then in fact they are isotopic. We show that lifts of periodic orbits to the universal cover

Production of antibacterial compounds by a Steely hybrid polyketide synthase in Dictyostelium
By selecting appropriate production species under optimised culture conditions, new chlorinated dibenzofuran compounds, which previously could not be analysed in sufficient quantities, were identified from cellular slime mould fruiting bodies. The strong antibacterial activity exhibited by these compounds suggests a link to the ecological function of ...

This study addressed how a senior research thesis is perceived by undergraduate students. It assessed students' perception of research skills, epistemological beliefs, and career goals in Biochemistry (science) and BDC (science‐business) students. Completing a thesis improved confidence in research skills, resilience, scientific identity, closed gender‐

Periodic orbits, breaktime and localization [PDF]
The main goal of the present paper is to convince that it is feasible to construct a `periodic orbit theory' of localization by extending the idea of classical action correlations. This possibility had been questioned by many researchers in the field of `Quantum Chaos'.

Infinite number of stable periodic solutions for an equation with negative feedback
For all $\mu>0$, a locally Lipschitz continuous map $f$ with $xf\left(x\right)>0$, $x\in\mathbb{R}\setminus\left\{ 0\right\} $, is constructed, such that the scalar equation $\dot{x}\left(t\right)=-\mu x\left(t\right)-f\left(x\left(t-1\right)\right ...

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.
