Cytomegalovirus infection is common in prostate cancer and antiviral therapies inhibit progression in disease models

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Human cytomegalovirus infection is common in normal prostate epithelium, prostate tumor tissue, and prostate cancer cell lines. CMV promotes cell survival, proliferation, and androgen receptor signaling. Anti‐CMV pharmaceutical compounds in clinical use inhibited cell expansion in prostate cancer models in vitro and in vivo, motivating investigation ...

Global Stability of Positive Periodic Solutions and Almost Periodic Solutions for a Discrete Competitive System

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2015
A discrete two-species competitive model is investigated. By using some preliminary lemmas and constructing a Lyapunov function, the existence and uniformly asymptotic stability of positive almost periodic solutions of the system are derived. In addition,

Separatrices and solitary periodic solutions

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 1977
A separatrix trajectory of a general solution to an ordinary differential equation is one which differs topologically from near by trajectories. Maximal regions of parallel flow are separated by a union of separatrices. The structure of these solutions has been a useful tool in the qualitative theory, especially in the plane (see, for example, [‘2, 6 ...

Global bifurcation of periodic solutions

open access: yesTopological Methods in Nonlinear Analysis, 1993
Periodic solutions of a family of autonomous ODE depending on a real parameter are investigated. This work was inspired by \textit{J. Mallet- Paret} and \textit{J. A. Yorke}'s paper [J. Differ. Equations 43, 419-450 (1982; Zbl 0487.34038)]. The major difference is that the general case is discussed and not only some generic one (e.g.

Association of high‐dose radioactive iodine therapy with PPM1D‐mutated clonal hematopoiesis in older individuals

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In thyroid cancer patients, high‐dose (≥7.4 GBq) radioactive iodine therapy (RAIT) was associated with a higher prevalence of clonal hematopoiesis (variant allele frequency >2%) in individuals aged ≥50 years (OR = 2.44). In silico analyses showed that truncating PPM1D mutations conferred a selective advantage under these conditions.

Periodic solutions of homogeneous equations

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 1992
The author investigates stability properties of special solutions of differential equations (1) \(\dot x=f(t,x)\), where \(f:\mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}^ n \to \mathbb{R}^ n\) is assumed to be homogeneous of degree 1 in \(x\) with respect to positive factors, \(f(t,\alpha x)=\alpha f(t,x)\) for \(\alpha >0\).

Chimeric diphtheria toxin–CCL8 cytotoxic peptide for breast cancer management

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
DTCCL8 is a recombinant fusion toxin that targets cancer cells expressing chemokine receptors. By combining diphtheria toxin with CCL8, DTCCL8 binds to multiple receptors on tumor cells and induces selective cytotoxicity. This strategy enables receptor‐mediated targeting of cancer and may support the development of chemokine‐guided therapeutics ...
