Computation of H-infinity norm of linear discrete-time periodic systems

open access: yes, 2006
We propose an efficient an numerically reliable procedure for the computation of H-infinity norm of discrete-time linear periodic systems. The new procedure is general being applicable to both standard as well as descriptor periodic systems with time ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

On the treatment of connecting conditions and the choice of admissible functions in energy method to investigate band gap characteristics of periodic beams

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal
Periodic structures are known to have specific frequency ranges called band gaps, where the transmission of elastic waves is suppressed. Research on band gap formation in mechanical structures has recently gained considerable attention, and there is a ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

On computing normalized coprime factorizations of periodic systems

open access: yes, 2010
A numerically reliable state space algorithm is proposed for computing normalized coprime factorizations of periodic descriptor systems. A preprocessing step is used in the algorithm to convert the initial problem for possibly non-causal systems into

The Heuristic Account and the Periodic Table [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper I criticise Worrall's heuristic account of use-novelty and his and Scerri's attempt (Worrall and Scerri 2001) to give support to this account by a case study of Mendeleev's periodic ...

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.
