Mechanically tunable phononic band gaps in three-dimensional periodic elastomeric structures
Three-dimensional periodic structures have many applications in acoustics and their properties are strongly related to structural details. Here we demonstrate through simulations the ability to tune the phononic band gaps of 3D periodic elastomeric ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Vibrational properties of quasi-periodic beam structures
International audienceQuasi-periodic structures have been widely studied, notably in the atomic vibration domain. In this paper a beam structure based on Octagonal quasi-periodic tiling is studied.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

A substructures method for the active control design of large periodic structures
A substructural control approach is presented in the control design of large periodic structures with identically repeating substructures. The approach makes use of wave propagation concepts in structural vibrations.
