Rehabilitation in Cases of Maxillary Lateral Incisor Agenesis Using Zirconia Implant and Abutment: Finite Element Analysis and Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The use of narrow‐diameter implants has emerged as a strategy to compensate for the reduced bone dimensions of maxillary lateral incisor agenesis (MLIA). This study integrates finite element analysis (FEA) and systematic review (SR) to assess the biomechanical and clinical viability of implant‐supported crowns in MLIA scenarios ...

Simple‐Challenging‐Difficult (SCD) Difficulty Classification for Horizontal Bone Augmentation

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To present a novel difficulty classification for horizontal bone augmentation (HBA) grounded in site‐specific morphometric characteristics, aiming to assist clinicians in achieving predictable guided bone regeneration (GBR). Overview HBA is often needed after tooth loss for proper implant placement.

The effects of anodization and instrumentation on titanium abutment surface characteristics and biofilm formation

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To assess the impact of anodization and instrumentation on titanium abutment surface characteristics (surface roughness and wettability) and biofilm formation (viability and mass). Materials and Methods Titanium discs were obtained from pre‐milled abutment blanks made of titanium‐6aluminum‐7niobium alloy.

Peri‐implant tissue definition and registration with a 3D‐printed emergence profile former on titanium stock healing abutment: A dental technique and clinical report

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Recent focus has shifted toward refining the soft tissue emergence profile to enhance aesthetics, support peri‐implant health, and ensure long‐term success. Traditionally, titanium stock healing abutments or chairside‐customized abutments were used to shape peri‐implant tissues and develop the emergence profile for implant‐supported prostheses.

A BiO‐Optimizing Site Targeted (BOOST) Approach to Periodontal Regeneration Through Local Doxycycline Prior to Surgery: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Localized pre‐surgical modulation of inflammation using doxycycline (BOOST) improved early wound healing and enhanced clinical and radiographic outcomes of periodontal regeneration at 1 year, demonstrating significant benefits in terms of CAL gain, defect fill, and pocket closure compared to standard care.

Use of Platelet‐Rich Fibrin (PRF) on Palatal Wound Healing: A Narrative Review With Clinical Recommendations

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
Based on the available evidence, the application of platelet‐rich fibrin (PRF) following free gingival graft (FGG) and subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) harvesting appears to be a promising approach for enhancing wound healing, minimizing postoperative complications, and reducing analgesic consumption. ABSTRACT This clinical narrative review
