Can computer-guided surgery help orthodontics in miniscrew insertion and corticotomies? A narrative review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Orthodontics has considerably increased the use of technology combined with surgery as a tool to improve dental movements in terms of predictability, acceleration of movement, and fewer side effects. To achieve these goals miniscrews and corticotomy were

Nonextraction Treatment of Severe Crowding with the Aid of Corticotomy-Assisted Orthodontics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This paper illustrates the combined nonextraction orthodontic treatment with the corticotomy technique in an adult patient (age: 25 years and 3 months) with severely crowded arches to accelerate tooth movement and shorten the treatment time.

Is periodontal phenotype modification therapy beneficial for patients receiving orthodontic treatment? An American Academy of Periodontology best evidence review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
BackgroundOrthodontic treatment can greatly impact the periodontium, especially in dentitions with a thin periodontal phenotype. Orthodontic tooth movement can result into iatrogenic sequelae to these vulnerable anatomic conditions, such as development ...

Micro-Osteoperforations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The researchers have tended to study on methods which will shorten orthodontic treatment periods due to the fact that orthodontic treatments are long-term treatments with increased side-effect potentials depending on the use of orthodontic force.

Dynamics of Alloplastic Bone Grafts on an Early Stage of Corticotomy-Facilitated Orthodontic Tooth Movement in Beagle Dogs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Alveolar augmented corticotomy is effective in accelerating orthodontic tooth movement, but the effect only lasts for a relatively short time. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the underlying biology of the immediate periodontal ...

Arginine Methylation Antagonizes TEAD3‐Mediated Repression to Promote Osteogenic Differentiation by Disrupting RUNX2‐Sequestrating Condensates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the unmethylated state, TEAD forms stable, repressive condensates that sequester the osteogenic master regulator RUNX2. Arginine methylation of TEAD at R55 acts as a molecular brake, dissolving these condensates to release RUNX2 and activate the osteogenic program.
