Indoleamine 2,3‐dioxygenase 1 inhibition reverses cancer‐associated fibroblast‐mediated immunosuppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CAF‐mediated immunosuppression in ovarian cancer is driven by IDO1, reducing T‐cell function. Inhibiting IDO1 restores T‐cell proliferation and cytotoxicity, increases cancer cell apoptosis, and may help overcome CAF‐induced immune suppression in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer. Targeting IDO1 may improve antitumor immunity.

Molecular determinants of signal transduction in tropomyosin receptor kinases

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tropomyosin receptor kinases control critical neuronal functions, but how do the same receptors produce diverse cellular responses? This review explores the structural mechanisms behind Trk signaling diversity, focusing on allosteric modulation and ligand bias.

Case report: Positioning head tilt observed in a dog and four cats with bilateral peripheral vestibular dysfunction

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
Positioning head tilt (PHT) is a dynamic neurologic sign that occurs when the head tilts in the opposite side of a voluntary lateral turn of the head. Notably, a head tilt is absent when the head is held stationary or when the animal is moving forward ...

Diabetes‐induced vascular calcification is associated with low pyrophosphate and its oral supplementation prevents calcification in diabetic mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Induction of diabetes in three different mouse strains uniformly resulted in an increase in TNAP activity and a reduction in pyrophosphate (PPi) in the circulation. Inhibition of TNAP restored plasma PPi. Diabetes‐induced calcification in the media layer of the aorta was detected only in the Abcc6−/− strain, which is predisposed to ectopic ...

Naked cuticle is essential for Drosophila wing development beyond Wingless signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Naked cuticle (Nkd), a Wnt signaling inhibitor, assumes extensive roles in Drosophila wing development. Overexpressing Nkd causes smaller, crumpled wings, while also perturbing multiple signaling pathways and developmental genes. A specific region (R1S) is critical for Nkd's function as a signaling integrator, offering new insights for studying its ...

Rare locations of peripheral aneurysms in Marfan syndrome treated surgically: a case report

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Marfan syndrome (MFS) is a connective tissue disorder that can lead to cardiovascular and musculoskeletal abnormalities. Aortic aneurysms and dissections are frequently seen in patients with MFS whereas peripheral vascular aneurysms in subclavian and ...
