Proportion of Peripheral Neuropathy in Newly Diagnosed Rheumatoid Arthritis - A Single Centre Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesJK Science, 2022
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients are more prone to develop neurological dysfunction; thus, it is important to recognize peripheral neuropathy in them.

High Plasma Tnf-? Levels And Mononuclear Cells Inos And Tnf-? Expression AS Risk Factors For Painful Diabetic Neuropathy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Painful Diabetic Neuropathy (PDN) is one of the most common and annoyingcomplications of diabetes mellitus. The pathogenesis of PDN is complex and still unclear.Recently it has become clear that nitric oxide (NO) and proinflammatory cytokines playan ...

Interleukin‐5, Eosinophils, and Interleukin‐5 Pathway Inhibitors in Eosinophilic Granulomatosis With Polyangiitis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Interlukin‐5 (IL‐5) plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) by promoting eosinophil differentiation, activation, and survival. We present here a typical case of EGPA in which treatment with IL‐5 pathway inhibitors is prescribed, showing to be beneficial for the patient.

Unilateral hyperhidrosis secondary to brainstem meningioma producing mass effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Unilateral hyperhidrosis of neurological origin has been associated with head trauma, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, peripheral neuropathy, lesions of the hypothalamus, and cerebral or brainstem strokes. In this report, we describe a 61-year-old man

Visual Hypersensitivity as a Transdiagnostic Marker of Surgical Pain Response in Arthritis and Chronic Pain Syndromes

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Nociplastic pain is pain primarily driven by the central nervous system and, unlike nociceptive pain conditions, is thought to be refractory to peripherally directed therapies. Nociplastic pain is also associated with hypersensitivity to painful and other sensory stimuli (such as visual stimuli). Nonpainful sensory measures have not been well

Signaling pathways and gene co-expression modules associated with cytoskeleton and axon morphology in breast cancer survivors with chronic paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy

open access: yesMolecular Pain, 2019
Background The major dose-limiting toxicity of paclitaxel, one of the most commonly used drugs to treat breast cancer, is peripheral neuropathy (paclitaxel-induced peripheral neuropathy).

Prediction of Relapse and Glucocorticoid Dependence in Eosinophilic Granulomatosis With Polyangiitis: Findings From a Large European Cohort

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a small vessel vasculitis characterized by eosinophilia, asthma, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) involvement. Although glucocorticoids (GCs) are effective in controlling symptoms, relapses and GC dependence are common. The aim of this study was to develop predictive models for vasculitis

The potential role of synovial T‐cell infiltration following knee joint injury in symptoms and progression to osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Identification of osteoarthritis (OA)‐specific synovial inflammatory pathways and their temporal relevance is critical for therapeutic targeting. We compared mononuclear inflammatory/immune‐cell responses following joint injury that does or does not lead to OA to define bona fide OA‐associated cellular events.

Integrating yoga into anatomy and clinical medicine education: A holistic approach to learning

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, EarlyView.
