Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1535-1555, June 2026.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Repair of the cerebral dura mater defect by temporalis muscle fascia or peritoneum as autografted tissues in dogs [PDF]

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Veterinary Sciences
This article was designed to compare the efficiency of temporalis muscle fascia or peritoneum as autografted tissues with fibrin glue to reconstruct induced dural defects in dogs. Eighteen adult dogs were used.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Evaluating long-term outcomes after cytoreductive surgery for colorectal peritoneal metastasis: do long survivors really exist?

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology
Background Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) has demonstrated improved overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) in carefully selected patients with peritoneal metastases from ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Completion of nodal dissection in cutaneous melanoma with metastatic sentinel nodes: Prognostic impact in a population-based cohort study

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology
Background In primary cutaneous melanoma (CM) with metastatic sentinel lymph node(s) (SLNB), treatment strategies may include completing a regional lymph node dissection (CLND).

Association of peritoneal cytology with other prognostic factors in endometrial cancer

open access: yesJournal of Cytology, 2022
Purpose: It is still debatable whether surgical staging of endometrial cancer (EC) should include sampling of peritoneal cytology (PC) and for what purpose this should be done. The aim of our study was to determine the significance of peritoneal cytology

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Correlation of Preoperative Serum and Intraoperative Peritoneal Lavage Fluid Ca-125 Levels with Postoperative Tumor Histology in Patients with Endometrial Cancer: A Prospective-Controlled Study

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Surgery, 2022
Background The role of Ca-125 in endometrial cancer is not fully known. Some authors have reported high Ca-125 levels in patients with recurrent or advanced endometrial cancer, whereas others have stated that Ca-125 levels and the advance of the disease ...
