Research on the Filtering Algorithm in Speed and Position Detection of Maglev Trains [PDF]

open access: yesSensors, 2011
This paper introduces in brief the traction system of a permanent magnet electrodynamic suspension (EDS) train. The synchronous traction mode based on long stators and track cable is described. A speed and position detection system is recommended.

MODELLING AND ANALYSIS OF PERMANENT MAGNET ELECTRODYNAMIC SUSPENSION SYSTEMS [PDF]

open access: closedProgress In Electromagnetics Research M, 2014
In this paper, an analytical model of permanent magnet electrodynamic suspension systems (PEDSs) is proposed. Horizontal and vertical magnetic flelds of a permanent magnet (PM) are efiectively approximated by sinusoidal functions. By this means, closed form solutions are obtained for lift and drag forces of PEDSs for the flrst time.

Impact of the Magnet Span on the Forces of Electrodynamic Suspensions with an Alternate Permanent Magnet Arrangement

open access: green2022 25th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2022
Permanent magnet (PM) electrodynamic suspensions offer a simple and robust solution to assure the magnetic levitation of high-speed transportation systems. Halbach arrays (HAs), which are the PM magnetic field sources with the best performance, are more complex to implement than alternate poles configurations.

A 3-D Hybrid Analytical Model of a Permanent Magnet Electrodynamic Suspension

open access: greenIEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion
This paper proposes a hybrid analytical model for addressing 3-D quasi-static eddy current problems involving a magnetic field source moving with respect to a bulk conductive material. The proposed model is particularly useful in applications that include ferromagnetic components, such as a permanent magnet electrodynamic suspension.

Topology Optimization of an Alternate Permanent Magnet Electrodynamic Suspension Using a 3-D Hybrid Analytical Model

open access: green2024 27th International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS)
This paper presents a novel gradient-based topology optimization method for the design of permanent magnet electrodynamic suspensions, using a 3-D hybrid analytical model. It enables the exploration of new magnet configurations, with the aim of improving both the lift-to-weight and lift-to-drag ratio.

Reducing the Power Consumption of the Electrodynamic Suspension Levitation System by Changing the Span of the Horizontal Magnet in the Halbach Array

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
In high-speed magnetic railways, it is necessary to create the forces that lift the train. This effect is achieved by using active (EMS) or passive (EDS) magnetic systems.
