GelMA‐based 3D spheroids recapitulate transcriptomic and functional hallmarks of myeloid sarcoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
GelMA 5% hydrogels support the formation of myeloid leukemia spheroids that recapitulate MS‐specific features, including G1 arrest, apoptosis, and ECM‐driven transcriptomic reprogramming. The 3D model mimicked soft‐tissue‐like stiffness and oxygen conditions, and transcriptomic convergence with primary MS samples confirmed its utility as a preclinical ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Permeability characterization tests of continuous graded coal bodies under effective stresses

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
The stress change of coal body around the gas drainage borehole is one of the important factors affecting its permeability. In order to study the permeability with different degrees of fragmentation around the gas drainage boreholes, some coal particle ...

Choroid Plexus Enlargement and USPIO‐Based Inflammatory Feature in Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The choroid plexus (CP) is a key component of the blood–cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BCSFB), but its mechanism of action in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) remains unclear. This study investigated CP volume (CPV) alterations and their association with conventional imaging markers in CSVD and explored the underlying role of ...

The standard peritoneal permeability analysis: A tool for the assessment of peritoneal permeability characteristics in CAPD patients

open access: yesKidney International, 1995
Peritoneal transport characteristics in CAPD patients are often assessed by the peritoneal equilibration test (PET), which uses a four hour dwell with glucose 2.27% dialysate. From the test, the dialysate/plasma ratio of creatinine (D/PCr), the dialysate/initial dialysate ratio of glucose (D/Do) and net ultrafiltration (NUF, drained minus instilled ...

Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.

Predictive Value of Composite Inflammatory Markers for Stroke Prognosis: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Novel composite inflammatory markers' role in stroke prognosis is understudied, and the best predictor is unclear, requiring further exploration. Objectives This study aimed to systematically evaluate the associations of 6 novel composite inflammatory markers on stroke prognosis.

Endothelial Cell Proteins as Biomarkers in Susac Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Susac syndrome (SS) is a rare CD8+ T cell–mediated microangiopathy affecting the brain, retina, and auditory labyrinth. Endothelial injury is thought to be a central mechanism; however, no circulating disease biomarkers are known. We performed targeted proteomic profiling to identify circulating endothelial‐associated proteins as ...

Modelling the permeability characteristics of an earth reservoir

open access: yesNigerian Journal of Technology, 2019
Particle size distribution and void ratio of a soil are considered as the direct information that can be used in a relatively easy manner for hydraulic conductivity estimation. Estimation of hydraulic conductivity from particle size distribution can be used to check permeability values obtained from other methods.
