A New Methodology for Determination of Layered Injection Allocation in Highly Deviated Wells Drilled in Low-Permeability Reservoirs

open access: yesEnergies, 2023
During the water injection development process of highly deviated wells in low-permeability reservoirs, the water flooding distance between different layers of the same oil and water well is different due to the deviation of the well.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Research on a Dynamic–Static Integration Method for Flooded Layer Identification in Cased Holes

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Accurate identification of flooded layers by cased-hole logging is a critical challenge for fine-scale development and enhanced oil recovery in water-flooded oil fields at medium to high water-cut stages.

Intravital imaging-based analysis tools for vessel identification and assessment of concurrent dynamic vascular events

open access: yesNature Communications, 2018
Different stimuli can induce dynamic changes in blood flow velocity, vessel diameter and permeability. Here the authors develop a multi-photon microscopy-based image analysis tool allowing the identification of vessels and the assessment of rapid changes

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Identification of MarvelD3 as a tight junction-associated transmembrane protein of the occludin family

open access: yes, 2009
Background: Tight junctions are an intercellular adhesion complex of epithelial and endothelial cells, and form a paracellular barrier that restricts the diffusion of solutes on the basis of size and charge.

Mitochondrial permeability transition, F1FO-ATPase and calcium: An enigmatic triangle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In response to calcium mitochondria can undergo a permeability transition—a sudden increase of the permeability of the inner mitochondrial membrane to ions and solutes resulting in cell death.

Investigation of pore structures and flow transport characteristics of continental shale in Dongying Sag

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology
Multiscale pore-slit structures, non-linear flow and complex lithofacies of continental shale in Dongying Sag present significant challenges for reservoir evaluation and sweet spots identification.

Prediction of Electrofacies Based on Flow Units Using NMR Data and SVM Method: a Case Study in Cheshmeh Khush Field, Southern Iran [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Science and Technology, 2017
The classification of well-log responses into separate flow units for generating local permeability models is often used to predict the spatial distribution of permeability in heterogeneous reservoirs.
