Application of logging interpretation method for reef shoal reservoir in Feixianguan Formation of X Gas Field

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa, 2021
For the reef carbonate reservoirs, the vxdarious lithology and pore types and the complex throat structure are the fundamental factors of complex pore-permeability relations, which greatly affect the accuracy of the reservoir parameters, especially the ...

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Data mining methods for the prediction of intestinal absorption using QSAR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Oral administration is the most common route for administration of drugs. With the growing cost of drug discovery, the development of Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSAR) as computational methods to predict oral absorption is highly ...

Permeability factors in nephrotic syndrome and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis

open access: yesKidney Research and Clinical Practice, 2012
Circulating permeability factors have been identified in the plasma of patients with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS). Post-transplant recurrence of proteinuria, improvement of proteinuria after treatment with plasmapheresis, and induction of ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Intestinal barrier function and absorption in pigs after waeaning: a review

open access: yes, 2011
Under commercial conditions, weaning of piglets is associated with social, environmental and dietary stress. Consequently, small-intestinal barrier and absorptive functions deteriorate within a short time after weaning.

Choroid Plexus Enlargement and USPIO‐Based Inflammatory Feature in Cerebral Small Vessel Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective The choroid plexus (CP) is a key component of the blood–cerebrospinal fluid barrier (BCSFB), but its mechanism of action in cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) remains unclear. This study investigated CP volume (CPV) alterations and their association with conventional imaging markers in CSVD and explored the underlying role of ...

High Permeability Streak Identification and Modelling Approach for Carbonate Reef Reservoir

open access: yesEnergies
Reef reservoirs are characterised by a complex structure of void space, which is a combination of intergranular porosity, fractures, and vuggy voids distributed chaotically in the carbonate body in different proportions.

Neurovascular Contacts in the Pathophysiology of Neuralgic Amyotrophy: An Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuralgic amyotrophy (NA) is a prevalent, monophasic, multifocal immune‐mediated neuropathy. A distinctive characteristic of the disease is the occurrence of nerve or fascicle constrictions and torsions (NA‐associated focal nerve lesions, NAFL). The pathophysiology underlying this phenomenon remains to be fully elucidated.

Identification of Spatial Distribution of Permeability in Dikes by CPTs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this study, the spatial variability of the strength and permeability inside and underneath a river dike are addressed. Cone penetration tests (CPTs) were conducted at the river dike site, which has piping histries.
