The principal arboviral vector Aedes aegypti can develop in coastal brackish water field habitats (0.5–15 g/L salt) with larvae possessing thicker cuticles and greater resistance to the larvicide Temephos. Females emerging from brackish water‐developing preimaginal stages are now shown to have thicker and remodelled leg and abdominal cuticles and ...

Effect of Biolep®, Permethrin and Hexaflumuron on mortality of cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera (Noctuidae: Lepidoptera) [PDF]
Cotton bollworm, Helicoverpa armigera is a major pest in cotton and one of the most polyphagous and cosmopolitan pest species of several crops such as cotton, pulses and vegetables in Asia. Lethal effects of Biolep®, Permethrin and Hexaflumuron belong to

We simultaneously analysed insecticide resistance mutations in VGSC and AChE using NGS and hybridization probe capture in houseflies collected from livestock facilities for the first time. Resistance mutations in both VGSC and AChE were detected in most wild populations, suggesting widespread distribution of resistance genes.

Status of insecticide susceptibility in Anopheles gambiae s.l. from malaria surveillance sites in The Gambia. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Vector control is an effective way of reducing malaria transmission. The main vector control methods include the use of insecticide-treated bed nets and indoor residual spraying (IRS).

Densities of all Anopheles species were approximately comparable across all IRS regimes. No differences observed between treatment regimes regarding species composition of the Anopheles funestus group or An. gambiae complex. This operational pilot demonstrates the practical feasibility of IRS micro‐mosaics, despite the inherent increase in deployment ...

Immune -Toxicity of Synthetic Pyrethroids: Modulation of Cypermethrin and Permethrin Toxicity by Tamoxifen [PDF]
Cypermethrin and permethrin are widely used in the agriculture in many countries. Continuouslow level exposure of human to such chemicals may increase the susceptibility to variousdiseases due to the suppression of immune system.
