Does cadmium affect the toxicokinetics of permethrin in Chironomus dilutus at sublethal level? Evidence of enzymatic activity and gene expression

open access: yes, 2016
Pyrethroids and metals were simultaneously detected in aquatic environment and showed antagonistic lethality to the benthic invertebrate, Chironomus dilutus.

Investigating zeta‐cypermethrin resistance stability in California Drosophila suzukii populations

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6808-6816, July 2026.
After continuous selection and removal of selection pressure in spotted‐wing Drosophila, zeta‐cypermethrin resistance remained stable over several generations. Following a population bottleneck, zeta‐cypermethrin resistance increased without selection, highlighting the importance of insecticide rotation.

Lack of fitness costs associated with resistance to permethrin in Musca domestica

open access: yesScientific Reports
Resistance to permethrin has been reported in Pakistani strains of Musca domestica. The present study explored the performance of biological traits and analyzed life tables to determine whether there is any detrimental effect of permethrin resistance on ...

Small molecules as arthropod kinin receptor antagonists, feeding modulators, or novel mosquitocidal agents

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6842-6863, July 2026.
A two‐pronged screen of small molecules – (1) on recombinant kinin receptor and (2) through topical application – identifies kinin receptor antagonists, feeding behavior modulators, and new mosquitocidal molecules. Abstract BACKGROUND Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes are primary vectors for numerous human and animal pathogens and ...

Safety of topical medications for scabies and lice in pregnancy

open access: yesIndian Journal of Dermatology, 2016
Medications should be employed with caution in women of childbearing age. Topical medications have little systemic absorption. Therefore, they are considered safer than oral or parenteral agents and less likely to be embryotoxic or fetotoxic.
