Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in Co–Pt granular multilayers [PDF]

open access: yesLow Temperature Physics, 2012
Magnetization hysteresis curves have been measured on Co granular multilayers, (Al2O3/Co/Pt)N (N = 1 and 25), with the applied magnetic field parallel and perpendicular to the substrate plane. In all samples perpendicular magnetic anisotropy was observed. For Co particles with average diameter 3 nm, the coercive field at low temperature is μ0HC = 0.5 T.

Thin film epitaxial [111] Co $$_{50}$$ 50 Pt $$_{50}$$ 50 : structure, magnetisation, and spin polarisation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Ferromagnetic films with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy are of interest in spintronics and superconducting spintronics. Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy can be achieved in thin ferromagnetic multilayer structures, when the anisotropy is driven by ...

Magnetic anisotropy of ultrathin Pd4Co(111) film by first-principles calculations

open access: yesJournal of Science: Advanced Materials and Devices, 2018
The Pd–Co alloy is a suitable candidate for the perpendicular magnetic recording and related applications. However, no research is available to clarify influences of local structures on the magnetic anisotropy of the Pd–Co alloy. Therefore, in this work,

Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy in FeRh Thin Films with Coexisting Magnetic Phases. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Abstract The advantages of high integration density, energy efficiency, and enhanced stability make the realization of perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) in single‐layer films a crucial step toward the development of advanced spintronic devices. A theoretical study predicted that the magnetic easy axis of FeRh film would reorient

Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in the Heusler alloy Co2TiSi/GaAs(001) hybrid structure

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
Investigation of the thickness dependence of the magnetic anisotropy in B2-type Co2TiSi films on GaAs(001), shows a pronounced perpendicular magnetic anisotropy at 10 K for thicknesses up to 13.5 nm.

Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and magnetization dynamics in oxidized CoFeAl films [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractHalf-metallic Co-based full-Heusler alloys with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA), such as Co2FeAl in contact with MgO, are receiving increased attention recently due to its full spin polarization for high density memory applications. However, the PMA induced by MgO interface can only be realized for very thin magnetic layers (usually ...

Symmetry mismatch-driven perpendicular magnetic anisotropy for perovskite/brownmillerite heterostructures. [PDF]

open access: yesNat Commun, 2018
Grouping different transition metal oxides together by interface engineering is an important route toward emergent phenomenon. While most of the previous works focused on the interface effects in perovskite/perovskite heterostructures, here we reported ...

Termination layer compensated tunnelling magnetoresistance in ferrimagnetic Heusler compounds with high perpendicular magnetic anisotropy

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Heusler alloy thin films with a distorted tetragonal structure have potential spintronics applications given their bulk perpendicular magnetic anisotropy.
