A Peer-to-Peer Middleware Framework for Resilient Persistent Programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The persistent programming systems of the 1980s offered a programming model that integrated computation and long-term storage. In these systems, reliable applications could be engineered without requiring the programmer to write translation code to ...

Harvey: A Greybox Fuzzer for Smart Contracts

open access: yes, 2019
We present Harvey, an industrial greybox fuzzer for smart contracts, which are programs managing accounts on a blockchain. Greybox fuzzing is a lightweight test-generation approach that effectively detects bugs and security vulnerabilities.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A Model for Data Citation in Astronomical Research using Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs)

open access: yes, 2017
Standardizing and incentivizing the use of digital object identifiers (DOIs) to aggregate and identify both data analyzed and data generated by a research project will advance the field of astronomy to match best practices in other research fields like ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Implementing Persistent Identifiers

open access: yes, 2019
Traditionally, organisations have relied on URL hyperlinks to provide interested parties with access to their digitised content via the internet. However, over time, more and more of these hyperlinks are ‘broken’. The URL relies on providing the specific location details for a document.

Index-Based Persistent Document Identifiers [PDF]

open access: yesInformation Retrieval, 2005
The infrastructure of a typical search engine can be used to calculate and resolve persistent document identifiers: a string that can uniquely identify and locate a document on the Internet without reference to its original location (URL). Bookmarking a document using such an identifier allows its retrieval even if the document's URL, and, in many ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.
