SMashup Personal Learning Environments [PDF]
Mashups have become the driving force behind the development of Personal Learning Environments (PLE). Creating mashups in an ad hoc manner is, however, for end users with little or no programming background not an easy task. In this paper, we leverage the possibility to use Semantic Mashups (SMashups) for a scalable approach to creating mashups.

Designing Asymmetric Memristive Behavior in Proton Mixed Conductors for Neuromorphic Applications
Protonic devices that couple ionic and electronic transport are demonstrated as bioinspired neuromorphic elements. The devices exhibit rubber‐like asymmetric memristive behavior with slow voltage‐driven conductance increase and rapid relaxation, enabling simplified read–write operation.

Artificial Intelligence as the Next Visionary in Liquid Crystal Research
The functions of AI in the research laboratory are becoming increasingly sophisticated, allowing the entire process of hypothesis formulation, material design, synthesis, experimental design, and reiterative testing to be automated. In our work, we conceive how the incorporation of AI in the laboratory environment will transform the role and ...

From Personal Environment to Personal Learning Environment
In the scientific literature, the Personal Environment has been described as a “new” resource to the learning process and named Personal Learning Environment. However, it has not yet been demonstrated in what way and to what extent Personal Environments contribute significantly and efficiently to the learning processes and outcomes framed by Higher ...
