Integrative Computational and Experimental Approaches Reveal the Protective Role of Moderate Caffeine Intake Against Apical Periodontitis Induced Bone Loss

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To investigate whether moderate systemic caffeine intake modulates the progression of apical periodontitis (AP) and associated alveolar bone loss, combining in vivo rat experiments with in silico molecular docking to explore potential mechanisms. Methodology Male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to four groups (n = 8 per group): control,

N‐Acetylcysteine Reduces Alveolar Bone Loss and Mitigates Systemic Oxidative Damage in Rats With Apical Periodontitis

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim This study aimed to evaluate the effects of N‐acetylcysteine (NAC) supplementation in apical periodontitis (AP) induced in rats. Methodology Eighteen male Wistar rats were randomly assigned to three groups: control, AP, and AP plus NAC.

Self‐Adhesive Flowable Resin Composites—Are We Going Somewhere?

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To map laboratory/clinical evidence on self‐adhesive flowable resin composites (SAFRCs), tracing their chemical evolution, performance, and behavior, and to identify gaps that must be addressed to drive their optimization. Overview A comprehensive literature search was performed in PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and LILACS without language ...

Erythrocyte Membrane Protein 3 (EMAP3) Is Exposed on the Surface of the Plasmodium berghei Infected Red Blood Cell

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, EarlyView.
Erythrocyte membrane protein 3 (EMAP3) is a novel Plasmodium berghei protein that is trafficked to the outer membrane surface of the infected red blood cell (iRBC). EMAP3 is not critical for parasite growth or sequestration but offers a new scaffold for displaying Plasmodium falciparum proteins on iRBCs.

Measurement and control of mechanics of cardiac trabeculae secured by light‐curable hydrogel

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Isolated cardiac trabeculae are small heart muscle tissue preparations, which have been widely used in in vitro studies of mechanics and energetics function of cardiac muscle. Current instruments for such experimentation often (1) involve delicate mounting of the muscle, (2) constrain investigations to one muscle at a time, and thus (3) limit ...
