Reactions to Ammonium Persulfate

Archives of Dermatology, 1963
A number of patients have been seen with generalized histamine reactions following the use of a hair bleach. Similar urticarial and dermatitic reactions were seen on the hands of hairdressers handling this bleach preparation. The responsible agent was found to be ammonium persulfate. Evidence is given that this compound releases histamine from the skin

Persulfate activation by subsurface minerals

Journal of Contaminant Hydrology, 2010
Persulfate dynamics in the presence of subsurface minerals was investigated as a basis for understanding persulfate activation for in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO). The mineral-mediated decomposition of persulfate and generation of oxidants and reductants was investigated with four iron and manganese oxides and two clay minerals at both low pH (12 ...

Сonformational study of persulfated propyl glucuronide

Carbohydrate Research, 2018
Glucuronic acid is an important constituting block of biologically active glycosaminoglycans where it can be present in non-sulfated, mono-sulfated and di-sulfated forms. Despite that some investigators reported previously that the exhaustively sulfated glucuronic acid moiety was characterized with unusual 1H-1H coupling constants and some times ...

Cu2+ activated persulfate for sulfamethazine degradation

Chemosphere, 2020
Sulfonamide antibiotics (SAs) are widely used in veterinary medicine but are poorly metabolized in biological systems; thus, they can cause a selective pressure to promote the proliferation of antibiotic resistant pathogens and threaten human health.

Persulfate Persistence under Thermal Activation Conditions

Environmental Science & Technology, 2008
Contaminant destruction with in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) using persulfate (peroxydisulfate, S2O8(2-)) can be enhanced by activation, which increases the rate of persulfate decomposition to sulfate radicals (SO4*-). This step initiates a chain of radical reactions involving species (including SO4*- and OH*) that oxidize contaminants more rapidly ...
