Perturbation analysis: a complex systems pattern
Patterns are a tool that enables the collective knowledge of a particular community to be recorded and transmitted in an efficient manner. Initially developed in the field of architecture and later developed by software engineers [6], they have now been ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

The normalized matrix perturbation method [PDF]
In 1926, Schrodinger supplied the theoretical basis for analyzing the time evolution of a quantum system through his famous equation that now bears his name. Soon after its advent, an intrinsic interest emerged to get exactly solvable models by using the

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

An Approach to Speed Control System of Motor with Robustness as to Inertia Perturbation [PDF]
This paper describes a speed control method to improve the load torque insensitivity and the reference signal fol1ow-up for a motor system whose the inertia varies widely.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Stochastic perturbation of divide position
Perturbation of divide position is considered by a linearization about the Vialov-Nye solution and also about related solutions with 0(1) relief. Relaxation times of one-sixteenth the fundamental thickness/accumulation-rate time-scale are found for the ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
