An Efficient Chicken Search Optimization Algorithm for the Optimal Design of Fuzzy Controllers

open access: yesAxioms, 2021
A proposed architecture to design the optimal parameters of Membership Functions (MFs) of Type-1 Fuzzy Logic Systems (T1FLSs) using the Chicken Search Optimization (CSO) is applied to three Fuzzy Logic Controllers (FLCs) in this paper.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Position and Attitude Tracking of MAV Quadrotor Using SMC-Based Adaptive PID Controller

open access: yesDrones, 2022
A micro air vehicle (MAV) is physically lightweight, such that even a slight perturbation could affect its attitude and position tracking. To attain better autonomous flight system performance, MAVs require good control strategies to maintain their ...

Class-Level Logit Perturbation [PDF]

open access: yes
Features, logits, and labels are the three primary data when a sample passes through a deep neural network (DNN). Feature perturbation and label perturbation receive increasing attention in recent years. They have been proven to be useful in various deep

Structure of the Turbulent Boundary Layer under Static and Dynamic Impulsive Roughness Perturbation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The zero-pressure gradient turbulent boundary layer at Reynolds numbers (based on momentum thickness) ranging from 2700--4100 was perturbed using an impulsively short patch of two-dimensional, spanwise roughness elements.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

A proposed methodology for trip recovery training without a specialized treadmill

open access: yesFrontiers in Sports and Active Living, 2022
Falls are the leading cause of accidental injuries among adults aged 65 years and older. Perturbation-based balance training is a novel exercise-based fall prevention intervention that has shown promise in reducing falls. Trip recovery training is a form

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Analysis of a multiphase free boundary problem [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica
In this paper, we investigate a free boundary problem relevant in several applications, such as tumor growth models. Our problem is expressed as an elliptic equation involving discontinuous nonlinearities in a specified domain with a moving boundary.

Perturbation in eigenvalues

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1982
AbstractWe study the dependence of the eigenvalues of a tridiagonal matrix upon off-diagonal entries. The change in the eigenvalues when a cross-diagonal product approaches zero or infinity is estimated.
