Polar Lattice‐Distorted Motifs Enable Synergy of Local Polarization/Dipole Fields for Concurrent Glyphosate Wastewater Remediation and CO Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photocatalytic treatment of glyphosate herbicide in agricultural wastewater is achieved through the cooperative effect of the local polarization field and dipole field mediated by lattice‐distorted carbon nitride. Glyphosate is completely degraded via selective C─P bond cleavage with a CO evolution rate of 1166 µmol g−1 h−1.

Integration of wing pattern morphology and deep learning to support Plusiinae (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) pest identification

open access: yesFrontiers in Agronomy
Soybean looper (SBL), Chrysodeixis includens (Walker) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae: Plusiinae), a major pest native to the Americas, poses considerable management challenges.

A male-produced aggregation-sex pheromone of the beetle Arhopalus rusticus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae, Spondylinae) may be useful in managing this invasive species. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The longhorned beetle Arhopalus rusticus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae, Spondylinae) is a common species in conifer forests of the Northern Hemisphere, but with global trade, it has invaded and become established in New Zealand, Australia, and South America.

Prevalence of QoI resistance and mtDNA diversity in the Irish Zymoseptoria tritici population [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
peer-reviewedThe emergence and spread of Quinone outside Inhibitor (QoI) fungicide resistance in the Irish Zymoseptoria tritici population in the early 2000s had immediate impacts on the efficacy of the entire group of fungicides for the control of ...

YOLO-YSTs: An Improved YOLOv10n-Based Method for Real-Time Field Pest Detection

open access: yesAgronomy
The use of yellow sticky traps is a green pest control method that utilizes the pests’ attraction to the color yellow. The use of yellow sticky traps not only controls pest populations but also enables monitoring, offering a more economical and ...

Detection of Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (Hemiptera: Adelgidae) Infestations with Sticky Traps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We deployed sticky traps underneath the crown of eastern hemlock, Tsuga canadensis (L.) Carrière, to assess their sensitivity at detecting crawlers (1st instar nymphs) of the non-native hemlock woolly adelgid, Adelges tsugae Annand (Hemiptera: Adelgidae).

Spectroscopic Evidence of Edge‐Localized States in an Antiferromagnet Topological Insulator NdBi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using spin‐polarized scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) in conjunction with quasiparticle interference, we successfully identify distinct signatures of the ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic terminations in NdBi, a rare‐earth monopnictide exhibiting non‐trivial topology and magnetism. We demonstrate that step edges on ferromagnetic surfaces host well‐

Satellite DNA as a target for TaqMan real-time PCR detection of the pinewood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The pinewood nematode (PWN), Bursaphelenchus xylophilus , is a major pathogen of conifers, which impacts on forest health, natural ecosystem stability and international trade. As a consequence, it has been listed as a quarantine organism in Europe.

POU2F1 Promotes Chemoresistance in Colorectal Cancer Cells via Attenuates the MDR2 Degradation Mediated by PPP1R11 Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram of our study showing that highly expressed POU2F1 in colorectal cancer (CRC) can directly accelerate the cytosolic lactate export to decrease PPP1R11 lactylation at K59, thereby attenuating the E3 ligase enzyme activity and protein stability of PPP1R11, which inhibits the ubiquitination of MDR2 at K413 and K538 but increases the ...

Development‐based In Vivo Bioreactor Strategy for Challenging Senescent Bone Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a development‐based in vivo bioreactor strategy to generate rejuvenated bone grafts (vBR‐Bone) within aged hosts. By enclosing vBR‐Bone fragments within an asymmetric biomimetic periosteum, segmental femoral defects in aged mice were successfully repaired within 6 weeks. Mechanistically, the multifactors of vBR‐Bone reconstitute a remodeling
