Pesticide residue in lanolin.

JAMA, 1989
To the Editor.— Reports of possible harmful effects of pesticide residues in lanolin in Australia 1 recently prompted us to question the pesticide content of lanolin used as both an absorbent ointment and an ointment base. The absorbent ointment (anhydrous lanolin) is frequently used to treat sore, cracked nipples in breast-feeding mothers.

Pesticide Residues in Marketed Sesame

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1998
Pesticides are chemicals used to enhance food production. While this factor remains important in the food industry, pesticides are also known to induce toxic effects in humans and animals. This, in part, is due to their stability in food processing (Dewailly et al. 1993; Gunn and Stevens 1976).

Pesticide Residues in Fish

1973
The chemical nature of our environment has been altered for the past 20 years by the addition of several hundred thousand synthetic chemical compounds. Some of these were used as pesticides although their general lack of specificity suggests that the term biocide may be more appropriate (Carson, 1962) The environmental persistence, accumulation, and ...
