Self‐Supporting Graphene Foam for the Removal of Chlorine from Water

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Graphene‐based porous materials are promising for sorption and catalysis but often require binders. This study presents a self‐supporting graphene foam made from graphene oxide and hydrazine vapor. Structural, mechanical, and functional analyses confirm its superior chlorine removal efficiency (97%) and reusability, outperforming activated carbon in ...

The Theory and Practice of Corporate Citizenship in Nigeria: A Petroleum Industry Beneficiary Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
With the aid of ethnographic data obtained in Nigeria's oil and gas region (the Niger Delta), and relevant secondary data, this article makes a case for a beneficiary-centred approach to corporate citizenship analysis, and thus urges a shift from the ...

The Fabrication of Superhydrophobic Coatings Using Food‐Grade Wax Dispersions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A method is presented for creating superhydrophobic materials using a simple mixture of food‐grade wax and solvent. By varying the solubility and dispersibility of the wax as the solvent is replaced, superhydrophobic coatings can be achieved on different substrates using spray coating.

Antifouling Surface‐Attached Hydrogel Nanocoatings Redefined: Green Solvent‐Based, Degradable, and High‐Performance Protection Against Foulants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
An ultrathin surface‐attached hydrogel coating is introduced that, unlike the best antifouling coatings so far, consists of hydrophilic, non‐charged, green solvent‐based monomers. It effectively renders the surfaces of medical devices stealth toward proteins, a clinical strain of MRSA and blood while offering on‐demand degradability to regenerate the ...

Polymer Nanogels with Albumin Reporting Interface Created Using RAFT Precipitation Polymerization for Disease Diagnosis and Food Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Herein, polymer nanogels with a reporting interface for albumin are synthesized through reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) precipitation polymerization of di(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate and N,N’‐methylenebis(acrylamide) using a poly(2‐methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine) macro‐RAFT agent, followed by dansyl ...

Well‐Defined Poly(HPMAm) Brushes via Surface‐Initiated RAFT Polymerization; A Mixed‐Chain Transfer Agent (CTA) Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A simple method relying on surface‐initiated RAFT polymerization is presented using a mixed‐chain transfer agent (mixed‐CTA) approach to grow well‐defined poly(HPMAm) brushes with precise control, achieving >70 nm thickness in 4 h at moderate temperature, 50 °C. Abstract Over three decades, efforts to prevent non‐specific protein adsorption on surfaces
