Underground Hydrogen Storage in Porous Media: The Potential Role of Petrophysics
PetrophysicsThe objective of this study is to showcase the key geological and reservoir engineering parameters that influence underground hydrogen storage, demonstrate the value of some petrophysical data, and show how hydrogen storage differs between depleted gas ...

THE BENEFITS AND DANGERS OF USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN PETROPHYSICS
SPWLA 61st Annual Online Symposium Transactions, 2020Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is a method of data analysis that learns from data, identify patterns and makes predictions with the minimal human intervention. AI is bringing many benefits to petrophysical evaluation.

When Petrophysics Meets Big Data: What can Machine Do?
Day 4 Thu, March 21, 2019, 2019Petrophysics is a pivotal discipline that bridges engineering and geosciences for reservoir characterization and development. New sensor technologies have enabled real-time streaming of large-volume, multi-scale, and high-dimensional petrophysical data

Geophysical Prospecting, 2019
As mineral exploration seeks deeper targets, there will be a greater reliance on geophysical data and a better understanding of the geological meaning of the responses will be required, and this must be achieved with less geological control from drilling.

Proceedings of the 7th Unconventional Resources Technology Conference, 2019
In unconventional plays, wells are drilled at an unprecedented rate. This, together with technical challenges in terms of complex stratigraphy, multiple play types, variable rock properties, and various elements of pore pressure, geomechanics, fracturing,

Petrophysical Seismic Inversion
SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2005, 2005As part of a two years collaborative RD the geomodels are not simply conditioned to seismic attributes by seismic-guided mapping but reproduce prestack seismic measurements (Bornard et al., 2005). A key component of the inversion methodology is a Petro-Elastic Model (PEM) that links the reservoir properties stored in the geomodel (e.g., porosity, rock ...

Petrophysical applications of NMR imaging
Applied Optics, 1985A system for obtaining high-resolution NMR images of oil field cores is described. Separate proton density and T2 relaxation images are obtained to distinguish between spatial variations of fluid-filled porosity and the physical nature of the pores. Results are presented for typical sandstones.
