SNR comparison between two designs of PFM demodulator used to demodulate PFM or FM

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1985
PFM demodulation which relies on the generation of one pulse per PFM signal period is compared with demodulation which generates two pulses per period. The dual pulse approach is shown to give an SNR advantage of up to 7 dB for the same input conditions, but the two methods give SNRs which converge when used to demodulate FM.

Colossal Photovoltaic Current in Ferroelectric Oxide by Constructing Defect Band

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Colossal photovoltaic current density of 34.36 mA/cm2 under 375 nm illumination has been achieved in the Pb‐deficient PbTiO3 film. The ultraviolet photoresponsivity surpasses that of all reported ferroelectric materials. This enhancement is attributed to the junction effect between the Pb‐deficient and non‐defective layers.

Ultrasound imaging measures of contraction characteristics of deep and superficial pelvic floor muscles differ during voluntary tasks

open access: yesContinence
Aim: Pelvic floor muscles (PFM) are arranged in deep and superficial layers, Although the superficial layer is commonly considered with respect to sexual function, preliminary evidence shows coordinated contraction of layers during voluntary and ...

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

Ultrasonic Thickness of Lateral Abdominal Wall Muscles in Response to Pelvic Floor Muscle Contraction in women with stress incontinency with and without Chronic Low Back Pain

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation, 2014
Objective: Urinary Incontinence (UI) as a common lower urinary tract dysfunction , results from Pelvic Floor Muscle's (PFM) underactivity.Because of co-activation of PFM and the Lateral Abdominal Wall Muscles (LAWM), this study was aimed to investigate ...

Ultrasound‐Recharged Sub‐Nanometer Palladium Catalysts for on‐Demand and Self‐Terminating Bioorthogonal Prodrug Activation in Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Safe and precise bioorthogonal therapy of tumors was achieved by an ultrasound‐responsive heterostructured nanoreactor with on‐demand catalytic activity. Under piezoelectric catalysis, the system undergoes reversible Pd2+/Pd0 redox cycling, concurrently enabling spatiotemporally controlled prodrug activation and self‐terminating catalytic dose ...

Real‐Time Ferroelectric Domain Wall Dynamics During Electric Poling and Depoling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Real‐time visualization of domain wall dynamics during alternating‐current poling, direct‐current poling, and electrical depoling in relaxor‐PT ferroelectric single crystals reveals distinct field‐dependent pathways and strong path dependence. Instant polarized light microscopy uncovers reversible domain wall nucleation, motion, and reconfiguration ...
