Short-Term Impact of Betaine Supplementation on Ruminal Microbial Relative Abundance, Nutrient Digestibility, Serum Metabolites, and Milk Composition in Heat-Stressed Dairy Cows. [PDF]
Short‐term betaine supplementation (80 g/day for 4 weeks) improved thermoregulation, ruminal fermentation, and nutrient utilisation in heat‐stressed dairy cows. These effects enhanced feed intake, milk yield, and metabolic stability by modulating rumen microbiota and reducing inflammatory and oxidative stress responses.

Effects of Replacing Dry-rolled Corn with Increasing Levels of Corn Dried Distillers Grains with Solubles on Characteristics of Digestion, Microbial Protein Synthesis and Digestible Energy of Diet in Hair Lambs Fed High-concentrate Diets. [PDF]
Four male lambs (Katahdin; average live weight 25.9±2.9 kg) with "T" type cannulas in the rumen and proximal duodenum were used in a 4×4 Latin square experiment to evaluate the influence of supplemental dry distillers grain with solubles (DDGS) levels (0,

Concentration of 2,3 bisphosphoglycerate in cattle affected with acute ruminal acidosis
The main objective of the study conducted here was to estimate the concentration of 2,3‐Bisphosphoglycerate (2,3‐BPG), 1,3‐Bisphosphoglycerate (1,3‐BPG), bisphospho‐glycerate mutase (BPGM) and 3‐phosphoglycerate (3PG) in cattle clinically diagnosed with ...

Intracellular pH of acid-tolerant ruminal bacteria [PDF]
Acid-tolerant ruminal bacteria (Bacteroides ruminicola B1(4), Selenomonas ruminantium HD4, Streptococcus bovis JB1, Megasphaera elsdenii B159, and strain F) allowed their intracellular pH to decline as a function of extracellular pH and did not generate a large pH gradient across the cell membrane until the extracellular pH was low (less than 5.2 ...

In vitro study of dietary factors affecting the biohydrogenation shift from trans-11 to trans-10 fatty acids in the rumen of dairy cows [PDF]
On the basis of the isomer-specific effects of trans fatty acids (FA) on human health, and the detrimental effect of t10,c12-conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) on cows’ milk fat production, there is a need to identify factors that affect the shift from trans-

Niacin alters the ruminal microbial composition of cattle under high-concentrate condition
To understand the effects of niacin on the ruminal microbial ecology of cattle under high-concentrate diet condition, Illumina MiSeq sequencing technology was used. Three cattle with rumen cannula were used in a 3 × 3 Latin-square design trial.
