Abteilung Phaeophyta (Braunalgen)

1987

Inorganic carbon acquisition by Hormosira banksii (Phaeophyta: Fucales) and its epiphyte Notheia anomala (Phaeophyta: Fucales)

Phycologia, 1995
Abstract Measurements of parameters related to photosynthesis, with particular reference to the mechanism of inorganic C acquisition, were made on the obligate epiphyte Notheia anomala Harvey et Bailey (Phaeophyta: Fucales) and on its most usual basiphyte, Hormosira banksii (Turner) Decaisne (Phaeophyta: Fucales). The work on Hormosira banksii included

Receptacle regeneration in Sargassum muticum (Phaeophyta)

Phycologia, 1992
Abstract Receptacle regeneration in the adventive marine brown alga Sargassum muticum (Yendo) Fensholt (Fucales, Phaeophyta) is examined using light and electron microscopical (SEM, TEM) techniques and laboratory culture studies. After transverse bisection, receptacle regeneration occurred under a wide range of temperatures and at different daylengths ...

Polar acyclic diterpenoids from Bifurcaria bifurcata (Fucales, Phaeophyta)

Phytochemistry, 2005
From the lipophilic extract of the brown alga Bifurcaria bifurcata collected off the Atlantic coast of Southern Brittany (Quiberon, France), five polar linear diterpenoids have been isolated. These metabolites have been identified as hydroxylated derivatives of 13-oxo- and 13-hydroxygeranylgeraniol.

2017
Marine algae are vast and unused fishery resources in Oman. A preliminary study was conducted to estimate the concentration of pigment fucoxanthin and other useful chemical substances in kelp, Nizamuddinia zanardinii (Schiff.) P. Silva, which dominates the southern coast of Oman in the Arabian Sea. The density of N.

Taxonomic study of the genusMyagropsis (Cystoseiraceae, Phaeophyta)

The Botanical Magazine Tokyo, 1987
The generic names of the brown algaeMyagropsis, Cystoseira andCystophyllum have been used in Japan, Korea and China for a small group of seaweeds whose limits have not been clearly understood. Studies on the development of the eggs and subsequent germlings show that substantial differences occur betweenCystoseira andMyagropsis.

Phenotypic variability in Sargassum polyceratium (Fucales, Phaeophyta)

Phycologia, 1989
Abstract Local-scale population differentiation of Sargassum polyceratium Montagne from the Content Keys, Florida, was evaluated. Forty-seven phenotypes were recognized based on blade features. The most common phenotype had lanceolate, often undulate, blades with serrated margins. Plants with flat or curly ovate blades or flat linear blades were common.
