Southern Australian taxa of Giraudiaceae (Dictyosiphonales, Phaeophyta)
Phycologia, 1984Abstract Three taxa (Giraudia sphacelarioides Derbes & Solier; G. robusta sp. nov.; and Flabellonema codii gen. et sp. nov.) are described from southern Australian waters. Both species of Giraudia are common epiphytes on species of the seagrass Posidonia, while Flabellonema codii is epiphytic on the utricles of Codium mamillosum Harvey.

Demographic characteristics of Pterygophora californica (Laminariales, Phaeophyta)
Phycologia, 1986Abstract Age distribution, age specific attrition, and age specific fecundity of Pterygophora californica Ruprecht were studied at three sites in Barkley Sound, British Columbia, Canada. These variables were then used in a Leslie Matrix model to test their predictive value.

During the 43 days natural and laboratory experiments it was established that in Ascophyllum nodosum (L.) Le Jol. Fucus vesiculosus L. and F. serratus L. from the Barents Sea the changes in the pigments concentrations take place after polar night. The data obtained are discussed, while taking into account the adaptation of photosynthetic apparatus of ...
