Enabling Complex Fibre Geometries Using 3D Printed Axon-Mimetic Phantoms
PurposeTo introduce a method to create 3D-printed axon-mimetic phantoms with complex fibre orientations to characterise the performance of diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) models and representations in the presence of orientation dispersion ...

ViP-CSI: Virtual Phantom Chemical Shift Imaging [PDF]
To apply the Virtual Phantom (ViP) method for generating reference signals, to the chemical shift imaging (CSI) technique. The ViP method, previously used for generating reference images in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), was here extended to generate reference peaks in the MR spectra acquired with a 2D-CSI sequence.

Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Brain-Blood Partition Coefficient and Cerebral Blood Flow in Canines Using Calibrated Short TR Recovery (CaSTRR) Correction Method. [PDF]
The brain-blood partition coefficient (BBPC) is necessary for quantifying cerebral blood flow (CBF) when using tracer based techniques like arterial spin labeling (ASL).

The role and implications of mammalian cellular circadian entrainment
At their most fundamental level, mammalian circadian rhythms occur inside every individual cell. To tell the correct time, cells must align (or ‘entrain’) their circadian rhythm to the external environment. In this review, we highlight how cells entrain to the major circadian cues of light, feeding and temperature, and the implications this has for our

Comprehensive phantom for interventional fluorescence molecular imaging [PDF]
Fluorescence imaging has been considered for over a half-century as a modality that could assist surgical guidance and visualization. The administration of fluorescent molecules with sensitivity to disease biomarkers and their imaging using a fluorescence camera can outline pathophysiological parameters of tissue invisible to the human eye during ...
