A novel method for tracking structural changes in gels using widely accessible microcomputed tomography is presented and validated for various hydro‐, alco‐, and aerogels. The core idea of the method is to track positions of micrometer‐sized tracer particles entrapped in the gel and relate them to the density of the gel network.

A fluorescence sensor for nitroreductase detection in hypoxic cells and zebrafish
Nitroreductase (NTR) is a type of cytoplasmic enzyme that depends on flavin mononucleotide or flavin adenine dinucleotide, and that is widely present in tumor cells where it increases during hypoxia. NTR can effectively reduce aromatic nitro compounds to

Deep learning for in vitro prediction of pharmaceutical formulations [PDF]
Current pharmaceutical formulation development still strongly relies on the traditional trial-and-error approach by individual experiences of pharmaceutical scientists, which is laborious, time-consuming and costly. Recently, deep learning has been widely applied in many challenging domains because of its important capability of automatic feature ...

Spectrophotometric determination of cefaclor in pharmaceutical preparations
A simple spectrophotometric method is proposed for the determination of cefaclor. The method involves alkaline hydrolysis of the drug in ammonia buffer solution at pH 10 to yield diketopiperazine-2,5-dione derivative and subsequent measurement at 340 nm. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 1.8 - 55 mg/mL.

Identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of ETS transcription factors
ETS transcription factors play an essential role in tumourigenesis and are indispensable for sprouting angiogenesis, a hallmark of cancer, which fuels tumour expansion and dissemination. Thus, targeting ETS transcription factor function could represent an effective, multifaceted strategy to block tumour growth. The evolutionarily conserved E‐Twenty‐Six
