Small-Signal Modeling of Uniformly Sampled Phase-Shift Modulators

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2014
Phase shift modulation (PSM) is a commonly used technique for controlling the active power flow in resonant dc-ac and dc-dc converters. Although traditionally developed as an analog modulation scheme, digital PSM is being increasingly used in conjunction with advanced multi-variable digital controllers and online efficiency optimization algorithms ...

Giant terahertz magnetoelastic phase-shift modulator

Applied Physics Reviews
Developments in communication technologies depend on the parallel progress in materials innovation, data processing devices, and their strategic integration. Terahertz (THz) science and technology is the latest field to witness phenomenal growth in 6G communication and quantum materials devices.

Phase-locked phase-shifting laser diode interferometer with photothermal modulation

Applied Optics, 2000
We propose a phase-shifting interferometer that uses both phase-locked and photothermal modulating techniques. In this interferometer the measurement accuracy is not affected by the intensity modulation that usually appears in current modulation. The surface profile of a diamond-turned aluminum disk was measured; the rms repeatability obtained was ...

Phase shifting by wavelength modulation in a cube beam splitter interferometer

Applied Optics, 2017
A low-cost and fully automated process for phase-shifting interferometry by continuously changing the input voltage of a laser diode under the scheme of a cube beam splitter interferometer, performing as a two-window common-path interferometric setup, is presented.

A Variable Phase-Shift Frequency-Modulated Oscillator

Proceedings of the IRE, 1949
The theory of operation of a phase-shift type of oscillator is discussed briefly. This oscillator consists of a broad-band amplifier, the output of which is fed back to the input through an electronic phase-shifting circuit. The instantaneous frequency is controlled by the phase shift through this latter circuit.

Phase shifts and frequency lockings in a modulated bistable device

Optics Communications, 1990
Abstract We demonstrate a range of locking regimes of a self-pulsing bistable hybrid electro-optic device when the input light is modulated. In the larger locking windows we are able to clearly follow the phase shift between the frequency-locked response and the driving frequency. A related phase shift is observed in the “frustrated switching” of the

Diagnosis of Phase Shift in a Temperature-Modulated Calorimetric Method

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 1998
In a temperature-modulated calorimetric method using the same apparatus as a standard differential scanning calorimeter, we have to pay attention to the thermophysical parameters of the apparatus, which cause phase shift in ac temperatures, such as heat capacity of base plate, heat capacity of a pan, thermal conductance between a heater and base plate,

Correlative Phase Shift Keying--A Class of Constant Envelope Modulation Techniques

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1981
Correlative phase shift keying (CORPSK) is described. CORPSK is a constant envelope modulation technique with smooth transitions between fixed phase positions with successive transitions correlated. A number of CORPSK members for 2 and 4 input levels are analyzed, including tamed frequency modulation (TFM).

Hyper Phase Shift Keying Modulation

2012
A communications system and method for transmitting digital information includes arranging a modulator to have an input bit stream of binary data and arranging a signal generator to generate four orthonormal hyper phase shift keying (HPSK) basis functions that are periodic functions with a duration T.
