The role of vasopressin in modulating circadian rhythm responses to phase shifts

Peptides, 1998
Telemetered body temperature (BT), heart rate (HR), and motor activity (AC) data were collected in vasopressin-containing, Long-Evans (LE) and vasopressin-deficient, Brattleboro (DI) rats. In Experiment 1, the rats were initially exposed to a 12 h/12 h light/dark cycle under ad-libitum feeding and were then subjected to either a phase-advance or phase ...

Experimental demonstration of microring quadrature phase-shift keying modulators

Optics Letters, 2012
Advanced optical modulation formats are a key technology to increase the capacity of optical communication networks. Mach-Zehnder modulators are typically used to generate various modulation formats. Here, we report the first experimental demonstration of quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation using compact microring modulators.

A Low Power Transmitter for Phase-Shift Keying Modulation Schemes

2006 IEEE 17th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006
This paper presents a novel continuous-phase phase-shift-keying (CP-PSK) modulation scheme and a low-power quadrature modulation architecture. In the proposed modulation scheme, phase-shift occurs in a smooth, continuous manner so that it can be implemented using an indirectly modulated frequency synthesizer.

Non-Photic Modulation of Phase Shifts to Long Light Pulses

Journal of Biological Rhythms, 2007
Circadian rhythms can be reset by both photic and non-photic stimuli. Recent studies have used long light exposure to produce photic phase shifts or to enhance non-photic phase shifts. The presence or absence of light can also influence the expression of locomotor rhythms through masking; light during the night attenuates locomotor activity, while ...

A Variable Phase-Shift Frequency-Modulated Oscillator

Proceedings of the IRE, 1949
The theory of operation of a phase-shift type of oscillator is discussed briefly. This oscillator consists of a broad-band amplifier, the output of which is fed back to the input through an electronic phase-shifting circuit. The instantaneous frequency is controlled by the phase shift through this latter circuit.

Phase shifting by wavelength modulation in a cube beam splitter interferometer

Applied Optics, 2017
A low-cost and fully automated process for phase-shifting interferometry by continuously changing the input voltage of a laser diode under the scheme of a cube beam splitter interferometer, performing as a two-window common-path interferometric setup, is presented.
