Phase-shifted linear partial-response modulation
Proceedings of 1995 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory, 2002Partial-response modulations are widely used for spectrum shaping and bandwidth reduction. Linear partial-response signaling (PRS) is a well-known form of linear coded modulation which was proposed by Lender (1963). Due to the lack of efficient algorithms for maximum likelihood detection the research on the subject concentrated on the simplest forms of

94 GHz phase-shift-keying modulator
International Journal of Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1996This paper describes a kind of low insertion loss phase-shift-keying modulators used in 94GHz digital communications systems. A BPSK modulator with a insertion loss lower than 3.8dB has been achieved by connecting a circulator and a fin-line PIN diode phase shifter in series. The bandwidth is 2.5GHz given a phase error of ±50.

Modulation analysis of phase-shifted holographic interferograms
Optics Communications, 1994Abstract A new evaluation technique for phase-shifted holographic interferograms is developed and verified by experiments. In evaluating the interferograms, both the discrete phase distribution and the intensity modulation of interference fringes are calculated and a binary control mask is generated by analysing histograms and tracing local minima of

Phase-shift-locked interferometer with a wavelength-modulated laser diode
Applied Optics, 2003A phase-shift-locked interferometer has been constructed for distance measurement. A phase shift produced by sawtooth-current modulation of a laser diode is locked to a phase difference preset by polarization optics that consists of a quarter-wave plate and polarizers through an electrical feedback technique.

Phase-shifting laser diode interferometer using pulse modulation
Applied Optics, 2012A phase-shifting laser diode interferometer that uses direct pulse modulation is proposed and demonstrated. We found that a laser beam with a wide range of wavelength variation at constant optical power could be generated when a pulsed current was injected into the laser diode.

The role of vasopressin in modulating circadian rhythm responses to phase shifts
Peptides, 1998Telemetered body temperature (BT), heart rate (HR), and motor activity (AC) data were collected in vasopressin-containing, Long-Evans (LE) and vasopressin-deficient, Brattleboro (DI) rats. In Experiment 1, the rats were initially exposed to a 12 h/12 h light/dark cycle under ad-libitum feeding and were then subjected to either a phase-advance or phase ...

Experimental demonstration of microring quadrature phase-shift keying modulators
Optics Letters, 2012Advanced optical modulation formats are a key technology to increase the capacity of optical communication networks. Mach-Zehnder modulators are typically used to generate various modulation formats. Here, we report the first experimental demonstration of quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation using compact microring modulators.

A Low Power Transmitter for Phase-Shift Keying Modulation Schemes
2006 IEEE 17th International Symposium on Personal, Indoor and Mobile Radio Communications, 2006This paper presents a novel continuous-phase phase-shift-keying (CP-PSK) modulation scheme and a low-power quadrature modulation architecture. In the proposed modulation scheme, phase-shift occurs in a smooth, continuous manner so that it can be implemented using an indirectly modulated frequency synthesizer.

Non-Photic Modulation of Phase Shifts to Long Light Pulses
Journal of Biological Rhythms, 2007Circadian rhythms can be reset by both photic and non-photic stimuli. Recent studies have used long light exposure to produce photic phase shifts or to enhance non-photic phase shifts. The presence or absence of light can also influence the expression of locomotor rhythms through masking; light during the night attenuates locomotor activity, while ...

Bit-interleaved coded modulation for phase shift keying on the hypersphere
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2017We analyze the performance of Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation (BICM) for MIMO systems employing Phase Shift Keying on the Hypersphere (PSKH), an extension of conventional PSK to higher dimensions. Because the quality of BICM relies on the bit-mapping between coded bits and signal points, PSKH constellations with superior distance properties and ...
