Large conditional single-photon cross-phase modulation [PDF]
Deterministic optical quantum logic requires a nonlinear quantum process that alters the phase of a quantum optical state by $\pi$ through interaction with only one photon.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Binary phase-shift keying by coupling modulation of microrings
We propose a coupling-modulated microring in an add-drop configuration for binary phase-shift keying (BPSK), where data is encoded as 0 and π radian phase-shifts on the optical carrier. The device uses the π radian phase-flip across the zero coupling point in a 2 × 2 Mach-Zehnder interferometer coupler to produce the modulation.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Millimeter-Wave System for High Data Rate Indoor Communications [PDF]
This paper presents the realization of a wireless Gigabit Ethernet communication system operating in the 60 GHz band. The system architecture uses a single carrier modulation. A differential encoded binary phase shift keying modulation and a differential

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Bounds on the Capacity of the Blockwise Noncoherent APSK-AWGN Channels
Capacity of M-ary Amplitude and Phase-Shift Keying(M-APSK) over an Additive White Gaussian Noise(AWGN) channel that also introduces an unknown carrier phase rotation is considered.

Evaluation of a multimode fiber optic low coherence interferometer for path length resolved Doppler measurements of diffuse light \ud [PDF]
The performance of a graded index multimode fiber optic low coherence Mach-Zehnder interferometer with phase modulation is analyzed. Investigated aspects were its ability to measure path length distributions and to perform path length resolved Doppler ...

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
