Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Distributed Target Detection with Coherent Fusion in Tracking Based on Phase Prediction

open access: yesRemote Sensing
In distributed radar, a coherent system often gains attention for its higher detection potential in contrast to its non-coherent counterpart. However, even for a distributed coherent radar, it is difficult to coherently accumulate local observations in ...

Poboljšanje sinhronizacije signala u softverskom GPS prijemniku / Improvement of signal synchronization in GPS software receiver / Улучшение синхронизации сигнала в программируемом GPS приемнике

open access: yesVojnotehnički Glasnik, 2015
In GPS receivers, navigation bit allocation is performed throughout the process of signal tracking and detection. In the process of signal tracking, the locally generated signal must be synchronized with the received signal. The Costas phase-locked loop (

Estimating the Magnitude and Phase of Automotive Radar Signals Under Multiple Interference Sources With Fully Convolutional Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Radar sensors are gradually becoming a wide-spread equipment for road vehicles, playing a crucial role in autonomous driving and road safety. The broad adoption of radar sensors increases the chance of interference among sensors from different vehicles ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Demystifying DFT-Based Harmonic Phase Estimation, Transformation, and Synthesis

open access: yesSignals
Many natural signals exhibit quasi-periodic behaviors and are conveniently modeled as combinations of several harmonic sinusoids whose relative frequencies, magnitudes, and phases vary with time.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Lossy Quantum Optical Metrology with Squeezed States

open access: yes, 2013
We study the precise phase estimation using squeezed states with photon losses present. Our exact quantum Fisher information calculation shows significant quantum enhancement and thus reveals the benchmark for practical quantum metrology in this noisy ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Non-Data-Aided Cycle Slip Self-Correcting Carrier Phase Estimation for QPSK Modulation Format of Coherent Wireless Optical Communication System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this study, we propose a non-data-aided algorithm of the cycle slip self-correcting carrier phase estimation (CSSC-CPE) which mitigates the cycle slips caused by blind CPE in the coherent wireless optical communication (WOC) system.
