Frequency Adaptive Parameter Estimation of Unbalanced and Distorted Power Grid
Grid synchronization plays an important role in the grid integration of renewable energy sources. To achieve grid synchronization, accurate information of the grid voltage signal parameters are needed.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Clock synchronization based on pulse with propagation delay eliminated in wireless sensor networks
Clock synchronization is indispensable for numerous applications of wireless sensor networks (WSNs). When no common reference clock is available, the nodes must employ distributed synchronization techniques. This paper proposes, a distributed pulse‐based

Phase Coupling Estimation from Multivariate Phase Statistics
Coupled oscillators are prevalent throughout the physical world. Dynamical system formulations of weakly coupled oscillator systems have proven effective at capturing the properties of real-world systems and are compelling models of neural systems.

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Interferometric binary phase estimations
We propose an interferometric scheme where each photon returns one bit of the binary expansion of an unknown phase. It sets up a method for estimating the phase value at arbitrary uncertainty. This strategy is global, since it requires no prior information, and it achieves the Heisenberg bound independently of the output statistics.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Wavelet-Assisted Adaptive EKF Phase Shift Estimation Approach for Motion-Induced Error Compensation
Phase-shifting profilometry (PSP) suffers from motion-induced phase-step variations in dynamic scenes. The breakdown of the fixed phase shift assumption results in issues such as ripples, distortions and accuracy decline in PSP systems.
