Adaptive optical phase estimation [PDF]
We experimentally performed adaptive phase estimation using time-symmetric quantum smoothing for a stochastically varying phase on continuous wave coherent beam. We demonstrate better accuracy than conventional methods.

ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Phase Estimation With Interfering Bose-Condensed Atomic Clouds
We investigate how to estimate from atom-position measurements the relative phase of two Bose-Einstein condensates released from a double-well potential.

ABSTRACT Treatment‐associated hepatotoxicity (TAH) is a common complication of pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) treatment, but genetic risk factors remain poorly understood. We evaluated the SOD2 rs4880 variant in 544 children with ALL at Texas Children's Hospital. After adjusting for demographic and clinical covariates, the rs4880 C allele

Iterative Code-Aided ML Phase Estimation and Phase Ambiguity Resolution
As many coded systems operate at very low signal-to-noise ratios, synchronization becomes a very difficult task. In many cases, conventional algorithms will either require long training sequences or result in large BER degradations.

Autocorrelation Function of Full-Response CPM Signals and Its Application to Synchronization
Two types of the autocorrelation functions of the full-response continuous phase modulation (CPM) signal are investigated in the paper, the autocorrelation functions are proven to be periodic functions when the modulation index of the CPM signal is h=1 ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Robust Filtering for Adaptive Homodyne Estimation of Continuously Varying Optical Phase [PDF]
Recently, it has been demonstrated experimentally that adaptive estimation of a continuously varying optical phase provides superior accuracy in the phase estimate compared to static estimation.

Encoding a Qubit into a Cavity Mode in Circuit-QED using Phase Estimation
Gottesman, Kitaev and Preskill have formulated a way of encoding a qubit into an oscillator such that the qubit is protected against small shifts (translations) in phase space.
